Will they do VGER? (spoilers)

So, future movie, think they will tackle VGER? I mean, it is coming, and before the Whale Probe as well (got that to deal with as well eventually). Though VGER is about 5+ years away? So Kirk has to finish his 5 year mission first. So will the next movie take place during the 5 year mission, or will they jump to VGER?

I hope not. That kind of storyline doesn't fit well with the rebooted series (as much as I love TMP I can see why some people call it the motionless picture), and there is the real world problem of the lack of Voyager probes after 2. Personally I'd rather they went with an original story anyway.

Re: Will they do VGER?

About eleven years away.

And no. They already handled it in the Nero comic mini-series.

So other than the colour its spot on!

I never read the countdown comic, I know Nero met up with V'GER during the story but how did it resolve the issue?

Actually, it happened in the Nero mini-series which was independent of Countdown. I have it on my shelf but I forgot how exactly they handled V'Ger.

Maybe Vger AND the Borg. Come on, everyone got to fight the Borg but Kirk! (But make the menacing again ... and scary ... and no queen ... and make it look like World War Z instead of a half dozen drones!)

I for one hope they return to Nibiru in the next film and everyone is a 1920’s gangster.

I thought there was a Starfleet officer on Rura Penthe who worked out the calculations for Nero?

^ Yeah "Clavell, a former Starfleet catrographer."

I was viewing that MB page.

And someone, perhaps on a other thread, commented on the Klingons having the Narada in their possession for so long but not doing anything with it, according to NERO #2 the ship was resisting their efforts.

"Aboard the Narada, which is surrounded by a force field in orbit, two Klingon engineers are still attempting to learn how the ship works; its systems activate by themselves, and both Klingons are electrocuted."

After that lame Khan story, nothing is impossible.
