Gnomes are deadly. I noticed she is palming one in her hand in an attempt to control him.

Interview with Anthony Mackey. Mostly he talks about "Pain and Gain", but talks a little about "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" as well--

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" has already gone into production, but what can you tell us about what we can expect from Captain America’s next adventure? Also, what are your overall feelings on being a part of this now growing and expanding Marvel universe?
First, I’ll say that being a part of it is great. I think that Marvel has it down to a science and they’ve been very deliberate about what they want and what they don’t want out in the world. And they’re very focused on timelines as far as releases and stuff. This movie, "Captain America," has kind of become "Avengers 1.5"; if you look at the cast they’ve put together, if you look at the number of characters that are in this movie. I mean, it’s a huge number of superheroes and characters. The basic idea is that you have Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon that get together to take down the Winter Soldier.

Cap, Natasha and Agent Jasper Sitwell on the set!

It looks like Cap (and Natasha) will have something of an adversarial relationship with S.H.I.E.L.D. in this movie. I can see Cap not trusting S.H.I.E.L.D. completely given what he discovered in Avengers, but it also looks like Natasha will be more "Avenger" than "Agent" as well. If movie Natasha's connection to Bucky is anything like her comics counterpart, I can see her siding with Cap if S.H.I.E.L.D. were to decide to take him down.

Nice to see Sitwell getting more screen time now that Coulson is "dead". As much as I like Coulson, it always struck me as odd that they created a new character rather than use an established one like Sitwell.

Those are some pretty interesting photos. Definitely looks like things aren't going well with SHEILD there.

I didn't know Sitwell was a comic book character.

Yup. Created by Lee and Kirby themselves, no less.

Bear in mind that the movie Sitwell, as played by Maximiliano Hernández, looks nothing like his comics counterpart.

I admit, Stilwell has escaped my notice as being an original comic character.

That makes his inclusion even more awesome!! Feige and Co. really do have this machine running smoothly....to date.

I saw those earlier today. I like the look. I wonder if the wires mean that this was a flying scene and the wings will be done as CGI effects later? It would make sense since the pics I've seen of the comic version look like they'd be pretty hard to do live.

FWIW, they are filming in DC next week. The movie is a secret, but it's Captain America.

Did Robert Redford reveal a major spoiler?

It would seem that in an interview he stated...

And we have Howard Stark! That makes just about everybody returning except TLJ's General Philips and the Howlers.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier pre-release thread

I haven't read the previous 16 or so screens, and I hope this comment won't overlap previous posts. But my thinking is that if Robert Redford is siging up for a Marvel film role, than pretty much any actor, including Sean Penn, may someday follow suit. Since less US dramas are made year-round, and these are the highest profile action films with occasional substance.....

I'm certain Redford read the entire part for committing. He may even have additional scenes tailored to his activist nature. His last film, THE COMPANY YOU KEEP, had a roster of great actors plus Chiapet Labeefyboof, and was partially successful in its execution. The ending was a little dry.

Redford picks good projects, but let's be honest.....his acting range is paper-thin. I can't remember any major emoting from him other than mild shouting over the decades. His strength is mainly in good dialogue, and direction. But his appearance in WINTER SOLDIER is a major Marvel threshold and it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier pre-release thread

Hayley Atwell will be starring in a Peggy Carter-centric "Marvel One-Shot" short film, to be released with the CA:TWS Blu-Ray.

“Fans of the first film really wanted to find out what happened to Peggy afterwards,” she said, “so Marvel are also making a short film, which is basically ‘What Peggy Did Next’, which will be shown at Comic-Con and be on the DVD extras of the second film (Captain America: The Winter Soldier). So as well as doing a bit in the new film, I’ve got a whole new spin-off short film. It has been great to be back in training with the stunt coordinators, kicking some butt again.”
Note that while Atwell said "DVD", all of the "One-Shot's" so far have only been included on the Blu-Rays and not the DVDs.

Iron Man 2's Senator Stern, as played by Gary Shandling, would seem to be playing a part in CA:TWS.

Nice continuity nod.
