Robin Williams. He comes across as someone who can funny when the scene requires it and also be quite serious.

Corbin Bernson?

BTW, I'm a little bummed about this thread, I thought someone was trying to figure out what toppings John DeLancie prefered on his sub sandwiches. I thought that we were trying to have 'that kind of discussion' here.

I reckon he's a tuna melt, lettuce and tomatoes kind of guy.

With Jell-O Pudding Pops for dessert.

I guess he'd make a better Q than the role he almost DID play on TNG (Berlinghoff Rasmussen)...

I was going to say that but I thought it had to be another actor from Star Trek.

Perhaps Q's crazy cousin is named Mork?

Well, perhaps, but I don't think I was the first one to post a non-Trek actor.

Btw, I also thought "sub for John De Lancie" was going to be about something else.

Tony Todd would be good too. The man's awesome at every role he's played in Trek.

Cumberbatch would have been a great 11-year old Q in 1987.
