Very sad to hear about the explosions. I just came back from watching Olympus Has Fallen. From watching make believe terrorism on the sliver screen to watching the aftermath of real terrorism on live broadcasts is really strange for me.

Two confirmed dead, 23 injured, but let's fucking worry about the runners' times. That's really important!

The link above gives more details on what is happening. There were two explosions, worse still they happened in a very close interval, and from the pictures I've seen...

Ugly, very ugly.

Oh geez. Who the hell would do something like this? Prayers go out to Boston and both its runners and non-runners

@ gturner: I will say this... you are not worth me getting an infraction. I am that mad at you right now for that. This is not simply some accident. This is a terrorist attack. People are dead and injured and you're going on about times?!

@ everyone else: This is... I don't even know where to begin...

They showed a picture from across the river and the smoke cloud from the bombing, it was like a mini 9-11. It's a beautiful clear day and this smoke cloud goes by.

It's been sorted, let's worry about the injured, dying, and dead.

^Sorry, bro, I had to say something. This just... it's... sick... People are out there to have fun, prove something to themselves and then some... words I reserve for elsewhere... have to go and take it away...

I just got an update on my iPod, an intelligent official said that they found two more bombs. This is a bombing.

I was hoping for gas leak.

Here's video someone took from their live TV screen of the actual explosion:
https://vine.co/v/bFdt5uwg6JZ

What kind of message does a terrorist intend to send by bombing a sporting event!? I can sort of understand the implied meaning of slamming planes into the WTC but when the topic of bombing the olympics comes up... and of today's atrocious events I just find myself grasping to understand the underlying meaning. Maybe Boston's security was weak? I can't fathom that since the USA seems pretty competent these days about having lots of officers and security on the ground at these kinds of events. Perplexing, gruesome and disappointing.

I am about 20 miles from there right now. There were at least 4 bombs with ball bearings, 2 bombs went off the other 2 (and possibly more) did not go off. 23 injured and 2 are dead.

Some doctor is talking, 6 very serious injuries, 5 serious and 19 more at one hospital alone.

It's either the work of a psychotic madman, or a terrorist group or -- heaven forbid -- a false flag attack. What really disturbs me is the small time interval between the two explosions, it smacks of coordination or remote detonation or both.
