I went to a few of the warrent sales up here in Glasgow at the time of the poll tax as a protest and hopefully to stop them, and it was heartbreaking to see people with nothing but a roof over their heads having what meager possessions they had forcebly taken from them all because they simply could not afford to pay the poll tax from their brew money, and in the proccess making them even more poverty ridden, where was the sense in these actions.

All they had to do was set fire to their home after they had taken their stuff and we would have been back in the middle ages, and i dont believe that they made any money on the stuff they were forcebly taking as it might have been of value to the people who owed it, but they were not really of any monetory value to anybody else other than fire wood.

Horrible times, i was glad when warrant sales were made illegal because there for the grace of god go us.

We don't make anything in the UK anymore because of Thatcher
Can you provide some factual information confirming that the UK now has zero manufacturing?

From the Guardian:

Perceived wisdom is also that manufacturing disappeared under Thatcher. If so, it was something that had already started. In 1970, manufacturing accounted for 20.57% of UK GDP. By 1979 that was down to 17.62% of GDP. By the time she left office, that decline had continued - albeit at a slightly slower pace, down to 15.18%. Now it is much lower, according to the ONS - down to 9.68% in 2010
So whilst manufacturing delined during her time in office, it actually declined more in the 9 years before she came to office.
So let's do the Maths.

17.62%-15.18% = a fall of 2.3% during the 11 years she was n office.

15.18%-9.68% = a fall of 5.5% during the Major/Blair years.

So lets be fair 2.3 / 11 = ~ a fall of 0.2% per year during the Thatcher years.

5.5/13 = a fall of approx 0.42% per year during the Major/Blair years.

Oh and in the 9 years from 1970-1979 it was a fall of approx 0.33% per year.

Now of course some of that could be in part due to policies started during the Thatcher years, but when she left office those policies could have been reversed. The fact is that it declied at a faster rate.

As I've said before no PM ever gets everything right nor do they get everything wrong. But using those stats it could be argued that whilst manufacturing continued to decline she actually slowed down the rate.
On the continent of wild endeavour in the mountains of solace and solitude there stood the citadel of the time lords, the oldest and most mighty race in the universe looking down on the galaxies below sworn never to interfere only to watch.
