Given a long speech about how noble it would be to sacrifice yourself to save two others that Tuvix would have no choice but to fall on his sword.

It sounds much more Trek.

Which is why VOY is such a delight.

Re: Janeway's Decision to Kill Tuvix

Jean-Luc's go to move surely has to be the Picard Manoeuvre?

He throws Tuvix at a wall at warp 9 so that in the 4 seconds that it appears that Tuvok is being thrown at the wall and Neelix is already bouncing off it, Picard can ask their opinion on the matter before the optical illusion integrates.

Sisko would have disintegrated Tuvix to make the entire question moot.

Archer would knocked Tuvix on his ass.

I think it's the other way around. Archer really seemed to like getting beat up.

The Enterprise crew were only truly interesting when they took their clothes off.

You might like "Acquisition" then (with the unidentified short, greedy aliens with huge ears). I watched it again last night and Trip spends the first 20 minutes running around in his blue underwear.

I disagree! I think picard would have advocated tuvix as his own being and capable of making his own choice. Im actually surprised Janeway went so hitler on him.

Shows the difference in maturity between her and picard (and even Sisko).. Her pompousness is one of the reasons I was never a big fan of voyager.

There were several episodes when I was like "Who does this !@#!@# think she is???"

Uh oh... does this mean its time to invoke the "Godwin" rule on this thread?

Re: Janeway's Decision to Kill Tuvix

The Godwin rule is that this is something that must happen, not that this is reason to end everything... Besides that would mean that any thread about the Killing Game, Patterns of force, or Stormfront would have to be locked from the first post.

Picard would have accepted Tuvix as his own being. Which is why he'd trump out the Picard Speech to persuade him to do so of his own violation instead of just forcibly performing the procedure. But if Tuvix did refuse, I think Picard would've reluctantly honored that.
