Typo?

"There are certain things men must do to Reman men."

Re: Confession: Why I am now 7/R

Why was that clone so swishy and posh anyway. After growing up with feral slave miners you would think he would be a little less couth.

If you mean Picard's clone, why didn't he have a French accent?

He should have looked like absolute crap, been damaged and hunched from crawling in mines and have terrible awful skin. Instead he looked like some lameass out of Twilight.

Re: Confession: Why I am now 7/R

They spent years teaching him how to be Picard, or hard wired him how to be Picard into his dna before they junked the idea... Did they say how old he was when they threw him in with the Remans and considering the forced maturation involved in cloning how mature, physically, emotional andintellectually that made him?

You know what happened?

Picard kept turning own promotions.

Replacing a Captain is bullshit.

Replacing an Admiral is endgame.

Wait?

There was a flash back of Shinzon from when he seemed to be 12 or 13?

Re: Confession: Why I am now 7/R

He was a pre pubescent kid in the mines.

Shinzon:

"...the dilithium mines? Not that it mattered, as I was no longer part of their plans against the Federation. In those terrible depths lived only the damned. Together with the Reman slaves I was condemned to an existence of unceasing labour and starvation under the brutal heel of the Romulan guards. Only the very strongest had any hope of survival. I was only a child when they took me."

"Then I didn't see the sun or stars again for nearly ten years. The only thing the Romulan guards hated more than the Remans... "

So. Should have looked like crap.

Re: Confession: Why I am now 7/R

Low standards for a Romulan, even a Romulan slave is probably more civilized than a dinner party for the High Council of the Klingon Empire.

He was a whiny bitch, so why not a lying whiny bitch?

"Oh, no! Two women love me. They're both gorgeous and
sexy. My wallet's too small for my fifties, and my diamond shoes are too tight!"

I think he could have been exaggerating.

The cultural bullshit would have been hard, but the actual mine itself?

Shinzon was describing a 19th century coal mine, not the apex of 24th Romulan science.

Did Nemesis hamstring Tom Hardy's career? He was getting some notice early with Black Hawk Down a year before, but didn't score well again until Inception 8 years later.

Re: Confession: Why I am now 7/R

According to his press Tom spent a number of rears doing drugs, but after rehabilitation and accepting in his failures as a person would like to be forgiven and invited back to the human race, and be paid millions of dollars to do so.

Classic PR manipulation.

I was hooked on crack is so much more classier than I bought a World of Warcraft account and suddenly it was 6 years later.

My memory (which may be faulty) was that the Romulans despised the Remans and the mine served as a way of subjugating them just as Rura Penthe served as a prison when there were probably more efficient ways to mine dilithium.

There's no such thing as sexual orientation in the future because there is no bias.

No lesbians, no gays, no straights... Everyone is a human being equally because no one is taught that there is any where they shouldn't put their sex organs.

Although to use olden-day language, everyone is bisexual.
No bias, yes, nobody still thinks there's any moral reason not to put your organs where you want, but I'm pretty sure our hormones will still have an opinion.

Janeway's brain says "I am very fond of Seven and there is no reason not to have a sexual relationship."
Janeway's chemistry says "Yeaahhh...no."

Then again I suppose she could go to the Doctor and get various endocrine therapies to change her chemistry's mind.

But if Voyager never got home, Tuvok/Seven is the perfect option. Neither will impose any role expectations on the other, save for once every seven years.

Re: Confession: Why I am now 7/R

Why do you think 7 will be happy with once only 7 years? Is it the beautiful symmetry of the 7?

I mean, Tuvok will have role expectations from Seven once every 7 years.
