Blastr thinks Morris Chestnut from V, American Horror Story, and Kick-Ass 2 dropped a hint that he might be getting involved in a Black Panther movie.
It seems like wishfull thinking to me, but you never know.

I always found the name Black Panther distracting, like he should be fighting a guy named White Power or something.

I've wondered about that. Is there a connection between the group The Black Panthers and the comic character?

No. Black Panther (the character) first appeared in July 1966. The Black Panther Party was founded in October 1966.

However, for one issue of the Fantastic Four, T'Challa went by the name "The Black Leopard" because of the real-life Panthers.

In fact, there was a brief period back in the 70's when Marvel renamed him the Black Leopard to avoid any political connotations, but changed their mind shortly thereafter. As I recall, he justified it by saying something like:

"I neither condemn nor condone those who have adopted the name, but the Black Panther is a law unto himself!"

It just makes me think of-

"Sorry I had a fight in the middle of your Black Panther party."

Many of the various comics news sites are reporting the release dates of two mystery Marvel projects-- May 6 2016, and May 5 2017.

Bleeding Cool

Superhero Hype

Comic Vine

Comic Book Movie

CBR and Newsarama are a little behind the curve.

I wonder if one of those could be Dr. Strange?

The long-term staking out of the first weekend of May continues. Sony has announced that The Amazing Spider-Man 3 will be released on the 10th June 2016 and The Amazing Spider-Man 4 on the 4th May 2018.

Why announce the release dates for the third and fourth movie already, before seeing how the much money the second movie makes? Talk about stupid.

Re: what's next for Marvel (movies)?

Staking out plum release dates has become a very long-term game. They can always cancel the projects if the gross for the next movie isn't good enough.
