Now I want cake. And at 1:30 in the morning that's never good.

I'm not a Golden Girl, dammit!

Now you've got me imagining Spock with Betty White's hair.

^Whose gods? It's a stunning photo. I'd love to take a walk there!
'Tis indeed. I love my bridge.
I want to walk it.

I bet the wind is a killer in winter!
Sometimes it's a bit of a bitch, but usually it's a really nice walk. That bridge also sports some pretty killer graffiti -- I'll try to remember to take some pictures of it on my way home!
I'm a huge graffiti fan so I'd love that.

I'll get J. Allen to Photoshop that for me.

Easter cake:

Not my idea, found the how-to at a cake blog. Had fun splattering cocoa "paint" on the cake and eggs!

^Awesome! I think, if I did that, more of the cocoa paint would have ended up in my mouth rather than on the cake.

Re: PICTURE POST II!

It's cocoa mixed with vanilla extract. Doesn't taste good until it's blended in with the icing.

Re: PICTURE POST II!

I'm currently substituting in elementary school (I taught middle school for ten years, then took some time off to write a book). The photo was taken last week at Books of Wonder, NYC's oldest, independently owned children's bookstore.

One of my more notable shots from when I worked there:

Re: PICTURE POST II!

Absolutely. In middle school, I taught 7th and 8th grade Language Arts and loved it (until Bloomie ran roughshod over the Department (Board) of Education). Recently, I've been working a 5th grade leave replacement and I could definitely see myself doing that on a more permanent basis - once I get my license extended to include 5th & 6th grades. There are some definite advantages to having the class all day - even if a couple of the kids have, shall we say, an excess of personality.
