See this why no serious discussions about the trailers are going on; too many people are thinking with their glands1!

Love the trailer, can't wait for blah, blah, blah...

Yuck.

On topic: the trailer is awesome. I'm hoping Paramount buys some ad time on TV to promote the film both here in the US and internationally.

This film, based on this trailer, really has a chance to kick some ass.

Regarding Kahn or no Kahn - I agree with those that said it's looking more and more like that's our villian.

However, Cumberbatch isn't Indian and according to Trek canon [not that it matters I suppose] Kahn was from India and ruled 1/3 of the world. Ricardo M. could pass [apperance wise] as Indian but not Cumberbatch.

Saavik and Kirk have changed their eye colours. Senator Cretak changed her height. Tora Ziyal changed her face - twice. Gorns can suddenly blink.

The line between Star Trek and Michael Bay's Transformers continues to disappear.
And yet you'll be the first in line, then you'll rush back here to tell us how awful it is.
The first movie had Captain Robert April, this movie has DalekJim. Welcome to TrekBBS.

Not to mention Khan himself and his followers turning white and blonde between Space Seed and Wrath of Khan!

Those supermen were just never seen on screen in Space Seed.

(Perhaps they were off beating up Chekov somewhere.)

Strange Kirk's many topless scenes are not sexist?

I didn't see a shot of her naked.

I saw one of her in underwear, but not naked.
I said half naked.

Right, because half-naked/scantily clad women and Star Trek have never crossed paths before...

I meant it looked out of place in the trailer. Though I also think it'll be stupid and out of place in the movie as well.

That's hilarious. Well done, sport. I guess we can add virgin to the list.
Yeah because every man is attracted to women. [/sarcasm]

Hey, at least they're sticking to canon department colors. After all, from all the upskirts we got in toss of Uhura apparently department colors have matching underwear.

I think the logic goes: he's a guy, so it don't count. But, yeah, it's a double standard.

I'm beginning to think all the people that that complain about the new movies and sexism and bad writing never watched TOS. I love TOS, it's my fav in the franchise, but let's be honest it was a product of its time. Even TNG forward was only slightly better; better but not leaps and bounds so.

If it IS Khan, it looks like they're really re-writing his history here. Although considering how much else has changed in this timeline, I guess it makes sense that this Khan would probably go down a slightly different path than the other one, and became more of a terrorist than an evil dictator.

Fantastic!

I don't care who the villain is at this point, I just can't wait to just see this movie!

Yup, there will probably always be sexy, half-naked women in Star Trek, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

As long as that's not the only way women are viewed in Trek (and it wasn't even on TOS), I don't see a problem at all with it.

Well, from what little we know, Eve's character is a scientist, weapons expert and plays a key role in defeating Harrison. So I'd say she's far more than a beautiful face & body in this.
