Re: Abrams Directing Star Wars
The British collecting and fan website Jedinews (.co.uk) has just posted an update on their home page as well as over on Facebook. The Clones Wars has been cancelled. The Season 5 finale where Ahsoka quits the Jedi Order, abandons Anakin and walks away into the distance will be the end of it. There's a possibility any unaired stories that are currently under production could see DVD and BluRay release under the new Disney ownership, but the weekly television series appears to be dead.

Re: Abrams Directing Star Wars
What they should have done is dismiss the previous canon completely, and done a complete reboot. Now every time I think of the events after Nemesis, I get a head full of popular culture mediocrity. It just doesn't make sense. I'm just used to a level of quality in Trek, and the latest movie certainly did its job. It brought "Star Trek" to a larger audience. The problem? They aren't seeing the real Trek.

Re: Abrams Directing Star Wars
So you like technobabble? I guess there had to be at least one person who does. Hey, if you like the technobabble, wait for the TNG reboot. This one is TOS where the TB is minimal . The ships look "better" because the movie was made in 2009 not 1999. If you saw the movie you know why they were placed in their position in spite being young and inexperienced. Its a reboot, clean or not. The old continuity isn't coming back either way. What events after Nemesis? Romulus was blown up. That's about it.

The interference of Nero in the timeline can only take you so far. As Dennis might so eloquently put it, that's just a fig leaf. You can see something busting out from behind the fig leaf, especially in the form of the Kelvin.

Plus if you love nonsensical, last-second deus ex machina technobabble so much, perhaps you should just stick to Voyager. |
