The Road Not Taken: I never met an AU episode I didn't like. I love this stuff.

This happens so rarely so I must rejoice that we saw a whole lot of Carter..






I thought it was an interesting touch that the SGC, that concrete bunker, was full of ponderous portraits and historical renderings. A good way to highlight this being a different world.

Hilarious that in 200 we got everyone's favorite fantasy marriage and in this one we got Carter's worst nightmare!



I really loved Rodney's house, it is MASSIVE.



I thought it was kind of odd how Carter wore this (very nice) coat through most of the episode. She wears it outside, she wears it when she's talking to Rodney, she wears it when she's in the SGC.. I was studying Tapping's stomach to see if this coat was covering something.




The resolution was too abrupt, as much as we'd like to think Carter's speech about her universe's Landry got through to this universe's president Landry it seems very silly they let her go. I would have liked to have seen her escape instead however that is really only a minor quibble. Great episode!

I enjoyed a very different Mitchell too.

She might have been pregnant during the episode, I don't remember. Otherwise wearing a coat is rather weird.

AU episodes are always fun. Can i just pretend the last two seasons are an AU, or at least that Continuum movie is?

Amanda Tapping definitely was not pregnant when the episode was filmed. Her real life maternity leave from the show was why she was absent for the first five episodes or so in season 9.

I know you're just trying to be funny, but most of Continuum was an AU.

I think I actually liked that one better than The Ark of Truth; though I won't get into that right now, better to wait until teacake gets to them.

My bad! I found Continuum t be fine, Ark of Truth is the one I hate with a passion. Mainly for one plot point that is so lame I nearly turned the TV off.

People who have watched can guess what it was easily. Teacake probably will go "must be this part" when he gets there.

I've had a lot of trouble with flickr so though I've been watching eps I haven't been getting my screenshots so haven't been posting. I must have my screenshots LOL. It seems to have somewhat righted itself.

The Shroud: That was kind of awkward, the whole "has Daniel converted" didn't work at all. However we do get to see Baccarin looking very Inara-esque.




And Daniel manages to be 1000 times better looking than any other pryor!

Not enough decay I guess..

Bounty: This was full of WTF moments!

DOPUD again!! I didn't expect that, this man is just addictive. I think it's his voice, the higher register in contrast to the muscles and the big guns

Very nice to see him one (last?) time. I think my favorite was seeing him in SG:U so far.




And then there's these incredible scenes with Vala dressed as Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island. I mean seriously, they dressed her like this deliberately as some kind of joke right?

Did she pick out these clothes after her tv marathons of earth culture?





You can see in this one she has been studying hard at what it means to be in the heartland..




A very entertaining episode with some lip service paid to actual Stargate plots about the Lucian Alliance.

And then there's the scene which ends in the most fantastical Mean Girls moment.. REALLY?!

And that road was so empty and dinky..

Well, he is younger than the other Priors. In fact, don't hold me to this, but I think Shanks is the youngest actor to wear Prior make-up.

Well, after 10 seasons it was about time they did a high-school reunion episode. I think more sci-fi shows could toss one of those in just because it's something the fans can relate to, a situation that bounces around in the back of your mind when you watch characters whose lives have become totally bizarre and unbelievable.

On the other hand, I have no intention of ever going to a high school reunion and don't particularly care to see my TV heroes doing so either.

All high school reunion story lines are the same. We all knew exactly where the conversation was going as soon as Mitchell's teenage crush showed up. Thankfully the stargatey parts took over and we didn't have to see too much more of that dribble. I did enjoy the Vala exchanges, silly as they were, because Claudia Black delivers the entertainment. She is so visibly enjoying herself!

I only went to one. The cops had it staked out looking to arrest our quarterback, home coming king, and son of the head of the school board for outrunning them on foot after his umpteenth DUI.

Sci-fi shows could do better re-union episodes than we usually see because having everyone get taken over by parasitic aliens or blown apart with death-rays is perfectly plausible, kind of like Carrie's prom with alien death.

Bad Guys: You know I love these amusing, outside of the plot episodes but uhh.. there's 4 episodes left! The plot does not seem to be advancing much at all! What the heck?!

That was fun, I enjoyed seeing a civilization that was not living in huts or castles. It's been a while.

Talion: Pretty gory. Well done fight scenes. Dramatic death of the enemy. Arkad's accent cracked me up. Would have been nice to have heard the Teal'c mother story back in the beginning of the series (or did we?)
