To tell the gospel truth, when or if the time is ever ripe and TOS-Trek takes off as a movie franchise (maybe even with recasted characters), who's to say a new Trek TV show couldn't be a reboot of TNG? I'd be down with that. In my opinion, it'd be a better idea than yet another "new" (but really derivative) version of Trek joining the franchise.

The idea of rebooting TNG makes me shudder.....just make a new series, and stop rehashing stuff over and over and over. And people ask me why I stopped watching mainstream TV or go to the films anymore since it's all nothing but remake, remake, remake. I can just picture whatever hack they hire to make it hire someone like Vin Diesel as Picard or Colin Ferrel as Riker......~shudders~

Is that about the standard? The actual line is "Our gravitational readings are going crazy - you should see this. It looks like a lightning storm." There's no indication that the person speaking believes that "it" looks like a lightning storm because of the readings. Rather, they think it looks like a lightning storm because it, y'know, looks like a lightning storm, and by the way, their gravitational readings are going cray-cray, WTF is this thing anyway?

And yeah, lightning storms don't cause "crazy" gravitational readings. This thing does, though, and it looks like a lightning storm. Which is different from it being a lightning storm. And saying that it "looks like" a lightning storm is different from saying that it appears to be a lightning storm.

Those two sentences are about all I need. Whoever wrote that crap collected their ticket, bought their popcorn and took their seat all with a sneer on their face, eagerly anticipating their own hatred of the film. And surprise, surprise - they got what they wanted.

lol I had a good laugh over this.

Generations was an abomination and a poor excuse to get both Kirk and Picard on screen together. The writers must have had it in for Gene when they decided to make a movie where Kirk dies. It was literal Character Assassination.

I kinda liked Insurrection though, but I still think JJTrek is superior to both films. I'm a TOS trekkie, never really got into post TOS stuff.
