It seems you can always spot communicator replicas because they don't make the exact-same grade of Kydex plastic anymore. So the texturing is always off on reproductions.

On top of that, even a true original communicator looks different from what was seen in the episodes. This is because the show was filmed at a limited resolution, giving the prop a nice, leathery sheen that arose because the texture and gloss you'd see in person were blurred together.

I believe the phaser is a Coyle. Ive never held one but I've seen photo's.

The Comm does look like an old JTK. It looks to be ABS plastic and the mid plate and antenna are wrong.

Maybe I should bring some of my replicas down and see what I can get! :-)
