White House petition demanding apology for "Jedi mindmeld" comment

Petition

Today on Mar 1, 2013, President Obama broke the hearts of STAR WARS fans everywhere by making an offensive error. During a press conference about sequester, he used the following shameful & disturbing phrase: "Jedi Mindmeld."

<snip>

We DEMAND that the president apologize to us for this horrific insult.

Also Dr. Spock does mindmelds, but Star Trek sucks
Whatcha goin' do?

Dr Spock? He of the comprehensive knowledge of infants? You mean Mr Spock, he of the elegant eyebrow and flawlessly logical mind.

We Star Trek fans DEMAND that the Star Wars fans apologise for this horrific and offensive slight against the One True Franchise.

Who will draw up our petition?

I see justice in the US is for the Warsie only! When will we Trekkies cease being second-class citizens?!

Yeah. Not only has the petitioner obviously never watched Star Trek, he's obviously never watched Star Wars, either.

Fucking Warsies.

The truth of course is that the President knows what too many people don't:

I felt a grave disturbance in the Force at that very moment...as if a million Star Wars fans suddenly cried out a collective "Nnnnooooooo"

George Takei is on The Ed Show right now, saying that he doesn't think it was really a flub. He thinks that the President is trying to get the opposing sides to find common ground.

Interesting; perhaps it was some kind of Freudian slip.

Didn't he write a book about that? 'Mindmelding with your kids' or some such?

^ Yep. The images show up for me. What, is PB down again or something, so the images don't show up for everyone?

I can only say that I can't see them and that when I don't see images they're usually hosted by by that bucket of shit (that's an opinion - not the new and improved name for it).
