Mark Wahlberg is a fantastic actor when he's really invested in a project. If he wasn't interested in Star Trek, it's a good thing that he didn't do it.

I loved the movie but have to say Hemsworth and the opening scenes were the best part. I'm glad he got the role.

I agree. The film peaked with the opening. It fired on all cylinders right out of the gate: action, suspense, and even drama. I admit I got a little teary-eyed the first time. (Okay and the second. And the third...)
