Well, it is five years in the DC universe. Look how many catastrophes Metropolis has faced in just a little over a year of the New52. They must have the most overworked public-works department in the history of ever.

JLA#1... the art felt scrunched and hard to look at, and the dialogue... What a bad issue. And I sorta hate what they are doing with Hawkman. No. I don't sorta. I hated it. I can't say I'm interested in JLA#2.

And I still think Wonder Woman is the best of the best of the rebooted books. If, and when, they were to make a Wonder Woman movie (before or after a Justice League one) I would like to see this as a template. Urban Fantasy meets Super Hero. It's great fun.

In my head as I'm reading the Lantern books, the First Lantern sounds like John DeLancie. Now he will sound like that for all of you, too. You're welcome.

Good thing I don't read the Lantern books then.

Interesting to note: About half way through Supergirl, H'El sucker-punches Superman, in a splash panel we see Superman flying from this punch, in the panel he has on the red trunks and yellow belt. (But the design of the armor is still very much the Krypotnian/New52 vesion.)

Is that a side affect of being a brony?

I like it when I'm not the crazy one.

So in Larry Niven's Ganthets Tale we see a hand shuffling the universe when Krona is trying to look at the origin of the universe... Then in Zero Hour we discover that it is Hal Jordan who created all 52 universes and that had always been his hand in the beginning and... Can someone sit Geoff Johns down and tell him to abide with the continuity of other writers "just a smidge".

The hand goes back to the Silver Age GL series. It also shows up in COIE where it's the Anti-Monitor's hand. (the Spectre shows up the arm wrestle him).

Of course that was then, as was the version seen in Zero Hour, and this is the New 52, so past continuity doesn't matter much.
I always figured it wasn't always the same hand-- it became the Anti-Monitor's hand or Hal's hand when they were trying to remake things. But only temporarily-- if you can use that term where time travel is concerned. The rest of the time, it's the hand of God or whatever.

Basically, whoever is trying to take over the multiverse gets to say "talk to the hand."

Is THAT how Tony Stark's comic origin got shifted from Vietnam to Afghanistan?

Stark started drinking in Vietnam, but by the time he came out of it, it was Afghanistan.

We've all been there.
Finally! That explains it!

I want to hear Guy's explanation of why the Inhumans wear masks even though they don't have secret identities.

Holyshit! I just had a fangasm! Just as long no stories feature them getting emotional in the FoS crying over the death of dick-shaped aliens.

So, is this not in the New52, or what?

Looking at that Jae Lee art displayed in the article, those look like the New52 suits, with those silly over-emphasized seams.

As great as Jae Lee is, I would have preferred the Meltzer/Hitch team.

It's during the 5 year jump in JLA.

Yes, I understand that, but they already met for the very first time.

Why even act like the first meeting between Superman and Batman is some amazing untapped territory? We've seen quite a few versions of that first meeting.
