Han Solo makes an appearance in different places in ALL the episodes of Firefly. I think that one was one of the most obvious.

Objects in Space:This is a well crafted episode, quirky and disturbing in parts. Very visual which you can say about the whole series but this episode had some wonderful moments.

Towards the beginning of the ep..

I hadn't realized last time I watched this that River is woken up by the sound of Jubal Early's voice in her head, before we know he exists.

In her own magical headspace..

I loved Kaylee's look of fear at the sight of River with a gun, you see the truth of how dangerous that is through her eyes and only you and Kaylee at this point know what she did with the last gun she handled.

Jubal Early is a disturbing man. But you know.. here's his mama:

Waving or telling him to stand back

And then towards the end of the ep..

And that's the tragically last episode of the series, but there's still a movie to come thankfully! And are there unfinished scripts out there? I saw something about that online but I have to go back and have a look.

The comics vary greatly, I was pretty disappointed in the Shepherd Book one. There is no way it told us the story of the man who Jubal Early says "that ain't a shepherd" about, the man who got instant medical treatment from the Alliance.

I never noticed the resemblance of the rubber ball to the planet.

Early was a great character. Whedon has said that he'd planned to have Early show up again somewhere.

The comics vary greatly, I was pretty disappointed in the Shepherd Book one. There is no way it told us the story of the man who Jubal Early says "that ain't a shepherd" about, the man who got instant medical treatment from the Alliance.

I caught "The Message" again yesterday on SCI, and noticed something else about Book. He seemed to know a lot about Womack, his training, and his jurisdiction. There was a lot of depth to the Shepherd that we never got to explore.

There is one unfilmed script by Cheryl Cain, who wrote "War Stories," called "Dead or Alive." Some of it was incorporated into "The Message," but it is a good script on it's own. . . http://www.whedon.info/article.php3?id_article=8136

Wow I never saw this before.. from the Collector's Edition of Serenity extras and on the blu-ray I think. Released on the internet as part of a viral marketing campaign prior to Serenity coming out according to wikipedia. (No Serenity spoilers)

Awesome, I'd heard of the River Tam Sessions but for some reason had always struggled to find them. For some reason they didn't put it on the UK DVD.
