Lay your bets please as to which of these will be the main online reaction...
1) "That's wrong. It looks nothing like the original console. Look at that dial... Totally wrong!"
2) "That's perfect. Brilliant. If the people making this can get it so right, why can't the people actually making the series now do as well?"

First official pic of David Bradley as William Hartnell.

Also they will be recreating classic episode scenes like "The Dalek Invasion of Earth"

Very exciting! I can tell Mark Gatiss is fighting down his giddiness at recreating that classic scene from The Dalek Invasion of Earth.

That's very cool. I still wonder how much time this will cover in terms of the show's creation.

That Dalek Invasion of Earth footage could be from a montage at the end, or something else.

Gatiss has talked about the script before; apparently he wrote it something like a decade ago. From what I understand...

That's interesting. I wonder if they'll touch on the missing episodes, or the christmas episode.

I guess Hartnell's health will be discussed as well.

Re: First image from An Adventure in Time and Space

Well, if it covers 62 to 66, then The Feast of Steven might get a mention, but there are no missing episodes till after the end of the story.
They all existed until 1967 (apart, probably, from the original unused version of The Dead Planet, and the material discarded when Planet of Giants 3&4 were edited into one episode). Masterplan 5 went in 1967,l in the the first batch of videotape wipings, but all other episodes had been transferred to film before wiping, and the film copies existed until sometime between 1972 and 1977.

I meant as part of an epilogue. It's a tedious fact to try and shoehorn into an anniversary story.

Wow.

The same's not happening with the 3d special but I hope Moffat's planned it well over the years.

Wow. Let's just ditch series 8 and redo Hartnell's first season!

We can see new interpretations of lost episodes and old episodes redone!

Re: First image from An Adventure in Time and Space

Don't forget the rest of the cast.

I suspect we'll get a montage a scenes from episodes. Daleks of course, Maybe a funny scene of someone in a giant moth costume wandering past the camera or hanging from the ceiling. I imagine though that the story will focus a lot on the drama of Hartnell's determination to carry on despite his health problems.

I wonder if the other companions from his era will make an appearance?
