Q appears on the bridge in an ancient earth costume.

Q: Thou art notified that thy kind have infiltrated the galaxy too far already. Thou art directed to return to thy own solar system immediately.

PICARD: That's quite a directive. Would you mind identifying what you are?

Re: "Encounter at Farpoint" Line-by-Line

Q: We call ourselves the Q, all of thou mates call me that. It's all much the same thing.

Two security officers arrive in a turbo lift. Q looks at them a Q force field pops up, keeping them in the turbo lift as the doors close.

Q: I present myself to thee as a fellow ships Captain, that thoust may better understand thee. Go back from whence thou came.

Torres starts to aim a phaser at Q.

Q: Stay where thou art!

Torres is engulfed by ice, he then falls to the floor, frozen stiff.

Q: Knowing humans as thou dost, Captain, wouldst thou be captured helpless by them? Now, go back or thou shalt most certainly die.

Captains Log: Supplementary, the frozen form of Lieutenant Torres has been rushed to sickbay. The question now is the incredible power of the Q being. Do we dare oppose it?
