I understand and sympathize. New years is never a problem for me luckily because me and my small group of geek friends decided a few years ago that we celebrate that together. None of us is especially lucky in the relationship area, but we never feel like we're missing something at New years at least

Regarding the single life, I do get what you're saying about the freedom of it. I like it as well, but at times it feels like I'd be willing to give up that freedom for someone to share it with. It's not as important as it used to be to me, but even so.

Sure I have friends that I go and see, but most of my firends are paired up these days. And you can feel like a third wheel at times.

I have had a brilliant idea!!!!

I am sending no flowers this year because of my flowers being the flowers of death (see beginning of thread).

A lot of people are going to be reading this thread and thinking, "maybe someone" or even "maybe that person I like" will send me a flower! And then COME THE DAWN their mailbox will be empty.

Well if that happens to you I encourage you to remember that you were on my list. It would have been anon and it would have been white and it would have been in your mailbox if I wasn't superstitiously abstaining from this little ritual. Only my fear has left your mailbox empty. It's not you, it's me.
