Supernatural 8x13 "Everybody Hates Hitler" spoiler discussion thread

New episode airing tomorrow night, good people, and Sam and Dean have found the holy grail bat cave. Looks like this show has beaten the odds and found refreshing new mythology. I didn't think it could do it, but I appear to have been wrong. Neat.

Yeah, I'm really pleased with what Jeremy Carver has done so far as showrunner. The show had kind of stagnated in the last two seasons (particularly Season Seven), but so far Season Eight has been a breath of fresh air.

I liked this one.

"That is one badass Hummel figurine."

I found the Golem to be a pretty interesting character. I hope we get to see him again.

I really like the Batcave. This could be a good home base for awhile.

Same here. This was a fun one. The stuff with the Golem and the Thule was interesting, and the Men of Letter hideout is pretty cool.

That was great. I find stuff about golems, Jewish folklore, the Thule Society, etc., really fascinating, so this episode was right up my alley. I agree that the golem was cool, and I'm sure we'll see both him and Aaron again at some point later on. I also liked that Sam seems to be kind of taking on the Men of Letters mantle; he's definitely the type for it.

Sam needs to rebuild the men of letters... But what that really means is that he's looking for wizards and sorcerers... But are they a Watchers Council or combat wizards that come into play when their minions have exhausted their 3rd class resources?

Sam has two choices... He can recruit from bloodlines or power.

If he got together the most powerful wizards in America, they'd likely turn into a league of Evil within a couple weeks, but who knows what sort of spectra of recruits he'd end up with if the last six generations since the culling have been left to Woodstock, MTV and Twilight, gosh, it would take him ten years just to teach these people Latin.

I remember when Demons attacked magic School in Charmed and ate all the students too slow to runaway.

Centralization is a really bad idea when that impossibly outnumbered.

It's practially asking for another culling.

Masada.

The Alamo.

Waco.

I hope Sam checks the lair for a copy of the golem instruction book. If it's a repository for mystical knowledge for a thousand years, maybe they have a spare.

They've been worried about finding a safe place for Kevin, so I was surprised that Dean didn't bring him back to the lair. He would make a good recruit for a new Men of Letters.

And if Sam really wanted to rebuild the society, his best bet would be hunters who aren't so rough around the edges, and the children of hunters. People who already know the score.

I wonder if the lair is warded against angels as well. It is protected against evil, and honestly, I haven't seen a lot of difference between angels and demons as depicted on this show.

I also wondered if a 'Jefferson Starship' could gain entrance. The place was probably warded against all evil creatures known as of 1958, but the Jefferson Starship is new. Yea they are probably all gone, but what if one isn't?

Completely different creatures.

God made the Angels and Lucifer made the demons in hell after the fall because he was lonely.

But in attitude they really don't seem very different. I can see angels being just as evil as demons.

I had the same thoughts too.

Re: Supernatural 8x13 "Everybody Hates Hitler" spoiler discussion thre

Hunters are hillbilly thugs on a revenge kick or they just got off on killing things with faces.

There is no way they would hand over their children to Sam.

He needs the orphan children who are bright who social services won't notice gone missing.

Sam needs to steal orphans and then fake their deaths.

Isn't that what Yelloweyes was almost doing with him and kids like him?

Really enjoyed the episode and the 'headquarters' was pretty cool.

Although shouldn't the place have been a heckuva lot dustier?

The weird thing about the golem is maybe because of involving WW2 and the Nazi's, but the 'blockiness' of the golem made me think of the way characters looked in old school FPS Wolfenstein 3d lol.

Well, if he was made of clay, he should look a little, er, odd.

And yeah, the whole Batcave should've been a heck of a lot dirtier than it was.

Maybe they have a Roomba.
