Poor Garrett, they cancelled his cruise for lack of sign-ups.

Though John Billingsley probably would have been good, judging from his naughty sense of humor in printed interviews.

Re: The Hottest woman on Voyager was Naomi Wildman

Cruises sound horrible.

I'm going to a con tomorrow, I will not be surrounded by water and I can leave any time I like

Also just want to say of all the now many Trek guests I've seen I'd put Garret up there as one of the best. Funny, down to earth, genuine. I got to talk to him during the break at the smoko table (I gladly sacrificed some lung space for Star Trek) and he was quite lovely. He was having a huge discussion about alien life with some other true believers (he's into conspiracy theories). Anyway I'd happily see him again and I can't say that about everyone.

Re: The Hottest woman on Voyager was Naomi Wildman

I saw Garret, John de Lancie, and Armin Shimerman at my last con in '95 (though some might say that's an antiquated memory), and Armin was great, even in a large hall. Someone asked where he was from, and in his inimitable voice, answered "Joisey! Can't ya tell?"

John dL. seemed a bit uncomfortable with Q-specific questions, but was more receptive to questions on his career. The worst moment came when:

Fan: Have you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior?
deLancie: (pause) Next question?

Sadly, I don't remember much from Garret as the show hadn't been on long (local tv promos mispronounced his name), so I might have been checking the dealers room.

Remember Wang Computer? I'm convinced they didn't tell them what the word meant in America, buildings everywhere simply labelled WANG.

Re: The Hottest woman on Voyager was Naomi Wildman

They had Blue Thunder advertising their potency.

They were all about the Penis.

The founder was born in China, but as an American citizen 30 years later in the 1950s founded Wang Computers, by the 80s his kids, who were most likely born in America, would have been running the show.

Not a "Foreign" Company.

Nothing was lost in Translation.

There was an arrest report on the Smoking Gun crime site a few years ago, where a massage parlor woman was arrested. Her name-- Mi Suk Yu.

John DeLancie was at a con in Toronto last year, I saw him but didn't get a chance to talk to him.

My first girl crushes in Trek were Teri Garr and Mariette Hartley. I would get sooo excited if I saw them in anything else.

I also remember being rather gaga over Julie Newmar's Catwoman who just seemed SO THRILLING. I guess she was my first lady in leather .
Throw in Diana Rigg as Emma Peel and I'm right on the same page with you.

Mariette Hartley did a series of Polaroid(?) commercials with James Garner in the 70s over here, which gave her some popularity.

I also loved her name.

I loved Mariel Hemingway too.

Is it less creepy for someone whose first appearance was as a preteen?

As Christopher said, I wasn't lusting after Molly or Naomi the characters. I'm just saying that Hana hatae has grown into a very attractive young woman, as has Scarlett.

It's sort of on scale with the case of actor Aaron Smolinski, who at doing a role at 18, already had a sizable fan following after doing full frontal nudity coming out of a spaceship as baby Clark Kent in Superman (1978).
