A little takeout dinner for this evening because I don't feel up to cooking.

From Amazon... new slippers, a tawdry romance novel and some things for my own fun.
From the local drug store... candy and baby oil.

Tonight from the grocery store... many things including soda pop and junk food for the SuperBowl.

From Amazon: Text books for the oldest, (replacement) copy of Kingdom Come, and a couple of Messengerbags for me.

Re: Your latest purchases, cont.

200 g gum arabic, I tried a pharmacy, I tried a drugstore and I tried two health-food stores, alas none of them had any so I had to order it on-line.

Luckily I found a Danish place that would be able to deliver -I'm not really in the mood to order white powders in bags that have to go through customs

Oh yeah, I also bought a ladle with a longer handle than the one I already had which tended to drown every time I used in my Rumtopf...

Ladle, ladle, ladle, ladleladleladleladle - what a marvelous word - I think I love it!

I rather like the word Rumtopf. I haven't enjoyed any since I left Germany 20 years ago, this year. Brought back some nice memories.

I finally bought and received Star Trek: The Newspaper Strip, Vol 1 and Star Trek: The Complete Unauthorized History.

I guess this counts as a purchase: I just signed up for Medicare, Medicare supplemental insurance, and prescription coverage. No, I'm not turning 65; I'm eligible because I'm on SSDI (disability). But I have to admit it does sort of make me feel old.

Re: Your latest purchases, cont.

^I would have gone for adhesive hoop-and-hook pads for that purpose
