Muir Woods, north of SF. I don't know how long I'm going to stay in CA but there's so much my (soon to be) ex wouldn't do with me and I'm trying to knock a few things off the list. My brother was out here for a few days so we drove up there and went hiking. It's beautiful.

If you haven't checked it out already, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park has some similarly scenic spots. From Santa Cruz up Highway 9 through there is a really nice drive.

I have! I love it, and it's actually really close to me now that I'm on the south end of the city (near 85 and 87). I've done Santa Cruz and that park on the same day a few times and it's beautiful, and not as insanely crowded.

It's very pretty—almost like a whole different world—and if you pick the right time, it's like having it all to yourself. Way cool.

You know, I was about to say those trees reminded me of the tall redwoods in E.T. or the Endor forests of Return of the Jedi. Those pics just screamed "California."

I meant to post this before too, but I don't think I did. You guys know I've been dealing with a lot and I had a particularly difficult day last week. I was getting overwhelmed and I saw this in the lot that I had parked in. Sometimes it's the little things (like graffiti!) that help.

I took this after work while waiting for my car to warm up. It's not the clearest picture, but it's 20 Below outside with the windchill, so I wasn't terribly concerned with the quality.
