Re: Cast the Characters of Trek Literature
Alternatively, you could ask Diane Duane herself via her blog.

![]() I would have suggested Don LaFontaine himself but unfortunately he passed away several years ago

Re: Cast the Characters of Trek Literature
Unless he might be too young, as I recall Peter was supposed to be older than the average cadet at the time of that novel...

Re: Cast the Characters of Trek Literature
I know Peter's age was explicitly mentioned in Sarek, but it's been too long since I read it and I don't have access to my collection at the moment. I could've sworn the book said he was 28 either at the time or when he joined the Academy, but that would've only made him about 2 in "Operation: Annihilate!" so that doesn't make any sense...

(And I thought I'd never heard of him, but then I saw he was Gale in The Hunger Games, which I have seen.)

Re: Cast the Characters of Trek Literature
In any event, he was also in The Expendables 2, in a significant but relatively minor role that was originally intended for first film but was cut.
I suppose it could be a simple enough retcon to make the character in Sarek one of Peter's brothers instead, but I think that would rob the story of some of its punch, at least.

Re: Cast the Characters of Trek Literature
Unless nu-Trek April turns out to be radically different than previous interpretations of the character.
