Edit: Hehehehe. Quick update. Still in Los Angeles, off home tomorrow. I just received an email from Galaxy Bookshop in Sydney (dated tomorrow), and the new "Allegiance in Exile" novel has just arrived there. Well, I had a scoop for all of four days.

The other way to post spoilers is to use the advanced reply window (either by hitting "Post Reply" on the left or "Go Advanced" beneath the Quick Reply window) and click the yellow smiley icon on the top right, the one with the x for a mouth.

Is the <spoiler> just a throwaway reference or a plot point of the novel? I'm not much into the 5YM but I love continuity porn.

WOW! I don't bother with many TOS novels (least favourite era, and not keen on the stand-aloneness) but I did really enjoy the excerpt from this one so was pondering it, depending on reviews. But now I'm sold in a flash; off to order a copy!

Wasn't going to buy because I'm not huge on TOS books, but this made it for me.
