Good point. If he were a few years younger, though, he'd fit the role well.

Other contenders for Cardassians (not Dygan) include Robert Patrick, Sam Neill, Jeremy Irons and Ed Harris.

Any characters whom Emily Blunt could work well as?

You are mistaken, as Christopher said, though I think Bates could do the role. So could Helen Mirren, but that's mainly because I'm fairly certain Helen Mirren can do anything.

Jessica Walter? Interesting. Not quite right, but not bad, either.....

Jessica Walter definitely brings a more patrician attitude to the roles I've seen her in than I'd associate with Nan Bacco, but I was thinking about her in terms of her wit, her biting sarcasm, and her air of being in charge.

And now I really want to see one of the Protection Detail code named Duchess.

Just looking at David Mack's casting for the Vanguard series, I agree with most all of those.

Steve Buscemi as Dr. Leone is a class choice! We know from Reservoir Dogs and Armageddon he can do serious and funny all at once.

I was the one who originally suggested that in this thread back in August 2008, and you replied an hour later with "Cool, I like her look to so I think I might go ahead and change my Choudhury entry." There was a general consensus that she was a reasonably good choice.

This thread's gotten so old and enormous that I find it's a good idea to search it for any names of interest before posting. You never know when you might've forgotten a previous conversation about a given character or performer.

Okay, here's a casting subject that hasn't been discussed: what sort of voice/accent do you expect from a Breen? (One that speaks basic, not that electronic noise from DS9).

I tend to imagine some with a Russian accent.
