Data appearance in new GE commercial

I haven't seen any mention of this, but during the BCS National Championship game, GE aired a commercial about robots, the future, etc. and inserted a clip of Data in uniform from the early TNG years (S1 or 2).

I'm at work so I don't have youtube access, but anyone else see this?

This comes on the heels of Dorn being used as "future guy" in a Dodge Dart commercial.

LOL kick ass!!! The whole thing was great, but the addition of Data sealed it as awesome!

I also liked Robbie the Robot and the Lost in Space Robot.

Too bad they couldn't get the actual Johnny 5, and had to use an approximation.

Yeah you're right but at least they didn't have to approximate data ... But here is a question, which episode do you think that exact moment came from ... I think he looks like he did in season 1

Seeing Data was cool, but I have to admit I was more excited to see KITT. Even 30 years later, he still looks pretty damn cool racing down a dirt road.

Absolutely. Not even Data is as awesome as KITT.

I'd guess the clip is from Season 1 based on his "look" and the color/material of the uniform. In Season 2, the uniforms seemed to be a little thicker and less thin spandex like in S1.

I thought the S2 uniforms were exactly the same as S1. I remember reading a story that they couldn't afford new uniforms, otherwise they would have changed them sooner. They compromised and got Wesley a new costume in S2 but made the rest of the characters wait until S3.

There was a difference between Season 1 and Season 2 costumes, I forget which season it was but they reversed the Spandex between seasons. I believe they used the reveres side in Season 2 and got the matt finish.
