Everything is well in the Celestial Temple. The 10th Orb, still undiscovered in the original timeline, the Orb of Orgasm, was found millenium ago and started a revolution on Bajor. Instead of being subjugated by the Cardassians, they went to Cardassia first and spread the knowledge the Orb provided. There were millions of converts on Cardassia who threw down their arms just to devote their lives to experiencing the message of the Orb.

I doubt they'll appear. Even if there's a third JJ-verse film. We're not sure when first contact with Bajor took place, but it probably hasn't happened "yet".

(And the Borg can't assimilate beings with no corporeal form.
