I still don't like the texture. Other than that it's pretty good.
I agree - the texture is too..reptilian? Pebbly?

I like the statue, don't have a problem with the texture of the suit.

It doesn't look to me like the pebbles are floating - it looks like they're bouncing and rolling. As if the earth is shaking beneath him as he tenses and braces himself to leap up. In the shot down from above, the ground has cracked open.

Which would be pretty cool.
Smallville had a similar portrayal of take-off (around the 40 second mark):

Watch it again. The pebbles slowly rise around him, start going faster the higher they get, and at a certain point, they start circling. They're definitely not bouncing up and down, they're floating.

If anything it reminds me of the same texture that they used for Thor's suit.

Which I think is the point, since it's supposed to look like a Kryptonian neo-medieval armor.
At least that's what I remember reading.

I like it btw.

I still think the costume needs something more around the waist, red or yellow. Just to break up the eyeline a bit.

Yes, because if there's one thing an invulnerable alien needs, its medieval armor.

Neo-medieval Kryptonians aren't invulnerable on Krypton. If the suit is Kryptonian is origin its protective nature is irrelevant when worn by a Kryptonian on Earth.

I'm guessing that the suit is Kryptonian is origin so it preexists Kal-El's arrival on Earth.
