Watch it again. The pebbles slowly rise around him, start going faster the higher they get, and at a certain point, they start circling. They're definitely not bouncing up and down, they're floating.

Neo-medieval Kryptonians aren't invulnerable on Krypton. If the suit is Kryptonian is origin its protective nature is irrelevant when worn by a Kryptonian on Earth.

I'm guessing that the suit is Kryptonian is origin so it preexists Kal-El's arrival on Earth.
