Hope 2013 is better than 2012 was.
Started a new job today as the maintenance guy at a hotel. It feels good to have a job again where I'm active and working with tools. I kind of really hated doing office work. Also my boss is a really nice guy and only very mildly annoying, easily tolerable. I also have a lot more autonomy than I'm used to which I'm going to enjoy.

Also, at the party I was at New Years Eve I met a girl I like a lot. That happens pretty often, but she also likes me a lot, which doesn't happen as often. We stayed up talking for hours after everyone else when to bed, then we went to bed. I fell asleep with her in my arms, and I'm not disappointed that we kept our clothes on the whole time; it was a good enough experience as it was, and that never happens.

So, yeah, 2013 is awesome so far. Let's see how the other 363 days go.

Seeing the Dragon spacecraft docking to the ISS is a REAL first! Never before has anything even slightly alike been done! And finding the Higgs boson... If I could mention only ONE important thing from 2012 it would be that.
Here's to Elon Musk having another great year

And Kommander, congrats on getting a job and a girl

Happy New Year everyone

It almost can't help but be better than 2012.
LOL I couldn't agree more
For me it started with a 2 day telephone blackout at my office. 2 days of uninterrupted work in peace and quiet. Pure bliss!
On the other hand it's a rainy year so far and when it rains my internet connection at home breaks down. Apparently there's water getting to the lines at some point but my ISP is unable to pinpoint the damage. I'm not sure if I can join Terranchat tonight. Give the others a hug from me, please, if I don't turn up

But you did get to join. That's a good omen for 2013.

true and after you had left Katie and I chatted about medical herbs till 2:40 am LOL

Even better omen for 2013: my office neighbour (remember? the annoying prankster) is moving. He gets a new office upstairs. I'm curious who'll get his old one. It's quite big and I suppose they'll put 2 or 3 people in there. Hopefully, nice and quiet ones (the wall is very thin)

Re: Happy New Year

We did indeed. A species invasive to the US which happens to be an old (and actually very tasty) European remedy against coughs: the narrow-leafed ribwort http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantago_lanceolata
For a sore throat I recommend the good old malt candy. Works miracles.
There's no cure for a sniffles, though, afaik. Unless you try Coffni's Cure: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/24276...-h/24276-h.htm (IMO one of the best SciFi written in the 20est century)

Well, I hope it works. He owes me a couple of audio files. And, by the way, I got the cookies.

As did I, last of the x-mas cookies I think, and then I had to set up loads of stuff on my parents new toys (dads ipad and mums galaxy S III) and do some housekeeping on their PC (remove tool-bars mostly) and notebook (software updates mostly)... Oh yeah, what a happy new year: I now have to get to know about both Android, Apple and a Windows version newer than my own just to be able to help my parents
