I thought Brian and Alec were brothers?

They have different last names (Alec Colson, Brian Vogler) so I doubt they're brothers. Plus they speak with different accents. They're close friends who apparentally go as far back as childhood.

I'm having a week of overseas relatives which has meant I can spend my paltry bit of time at home either posting or watching and since I am going insane I'm posting. As soon as it is over I'm back to hopefully power watching SG:1 which I miss

Sacrifices: Totally unnerved by how much Ishta sounds like T'Pol when she was deteriorating in season 3 on Vulcan crack. It is just weird to hear her speaking in exactly the same tones as she does when a Vulcan.. there were times when my brain was saying "that's like when she told Trip.."

So I'll just say it. She's not a very good actor. But she does have her charms and an interesting face and I enjoyed watching her for the Trek connection. I suspect I would not be very kind I didn't have T'Pol to feel warm about here.

I was very glad to get back the Jaffa storyline, I have missed the Goa'uld dramas! This was an interesting continuance of the Xena tribe's tribulations and brought in Baal to tie it in with what else has been going on in Goa'uld land.

I'm going to assume the "Rite of Or'nok" was the bloke performing circumcision on himself on the eve of his wedding night.

I enjoyed O'Neill suggesting a pinata in place of a ritual goat sacrifice

Oh and little question.. all enemies are amassed at the gate making troubles.. why not just open it and send a bomb through?

Teal'c was rather churlish this episode despite his sorta woman coming to visit. Guess I might feel that way if my teenager announced they were getting hitched.

Endgame: Nice to see someone takes a different tack to Picard. Yes yes, the innocent.. but it's still very interesting. I'm betting the world Carter tried (successfully) to divert the symbiont death gas from was the one her father was on?

I'm continually impressed by the tapestry of arcs in Stargate. They come, they go, the weave in and out.. it's a very rich series.

And I'm wondering, Tok'ra disguised as Goa'uld.. if they get the opportunity to return to the Tok'ra tunnels do they keep up the vamp style or do they immediately don sacks and leave off the hot imperiousness?

Sad that this one never got to show us.

I'll admit, I was never particularly impressed with Jolene Blalock as T'Pol, but I did enjoy her as Ishta. And yet, I do recognize she delivered the exact saem performance in both roles, but for some reason I like Ishta more. *Shrug*

I actually did like T'pol, Jolene Blalok's acting style (I guess, since Ishta was exactly the same delivery) works really well for a Vulcan, IMHO. So, I was able to appreciate Ishta, because I liked T'Pol, but, yea, the cold, emotionless Vulcan delivery doesn't quite work for a Jaffa/Goa'uld

I noticed too how she played T'Pol and Ishta exactly the same way. I wonder if maybe Jolene did not understand what a Jaffa was. Maybe she just thought "I am playing a strong alien babe. Cool! I'll just do what I did with T'Pol since she was also a strong alien babe."

Broken Bow, 2001. Sacrifices, 2004.

It's the delivery but also that she holds her face in exactly the same way.. this tension in the cheeks to show she's not happy. She did hold off on the twitching eyes that T'Pol spent a season doing, I kept expecting to see it. And yes I liked T'Pol fine, and I thought the portrayal of a flawed Vulcan barely holding it together was a good one.. but perhaps that's all she's got? Ishta's interesting though, her Xena gals are interesting, their struggle adds a lot to the Jaffa storyline and she's a nice match with Teal'c. So presumably she will soon die.

Also, god bless Bra'tac he is always a fine inclusion to any episode and it's great to see him still with us as a recurring character 8 seasons in.

Yea, Bra'tac always adds a star to an episode's rating. He's great in Once upon a Time also as Gepetto

I liked him in a couple of season 1 episode of "Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles" as one of her old friends who could get her fake IDs.

Hell, Tony Amendola was able to take that really subpar Continuum show and make it interesting, despite the fact that his character was so incredibly cliched. Now that's acting talent.
