The Ninth Fleet - http://theninthfleet.com

The Ninth Fleet is currently seeking new and experienced writers and gamers to fill positions aboard various Star Trek simms!

The Ninth Fleet operates in distinct groups, in separate unique universes. One may have a tie to each other due to the same creator, while others do not. It depends on the person whom originally created it and how the COs feel. If the group does not want it, we do not force it upon them. That's not how we do things around here.

The universe is a vast place, comprising of stars, galaxies... everything we can perceive. But the multiverse is infinitely larger. Many different theories exist as to if there are different universes or parallel worlds, but as to whether they will exist or not is something we have to ask ourselves if we believe in.

Fiction is one example of this concept. An alternate timeline (or to use a term that fits with the theory alternate universe) is one that we explore as a work of writing, exploring out with going to new worlds in a television series or expanding our minds in a book. It is not us that goes through these events, but rather the shadows of ourselves or someone completely different from us, from an established universe. It is up to us to establish this world in our minds, even expand upon it and, if we want to, write more and share it.

The Ninth Fleet is founded in this theory.

Imagine, if you will, an organization that, no matter what the universe, no matter what the time, exists in some form or another. It is something that seems so innocuous, so small, but is somewhere around there, always there to support those that need it and help others that may not.

We are the ones you work with when things are down, when the cards are out.

We are the Ninth Fleet.

Whether it is a small organization of surface ships, a group of special operations, or a large space fleet of epic proportions, we are there. When you need recruits or new people, we will support you. When you need to have your ship refitted or new equipment, we will support you.

You are not alone.

Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

In the year 2387 the Federation has seemingly come to calm from the years of chaos that enveloped it including the destruction of Romulus, the Borg Invasion, internal strife and more. Pushing aside these things Starfleet realizes that its goal and mission must continue; to seek out new life forms and new civilizations. The call of discovery, reaching for what we only normally dream of is still a passion that burns deep for so many.

Some choose to answer that call like all of us have for centuries; striving to learn, explore, and understand. These are the ones whose paths shine brightest, those who believe the stars merely guide their path but they themselves forge it. The mission of the USS Hyperion like those who yearn for knowledge is primarily that of exploration and discovery. Our journeys have led us to not only explore that which is within ourselves but that which is in the deep recesses of space and that which surrounds us. When the call is made however we will defend our fellow comrades, the Federation, and her people just as fervently as we would set off to discover the unknown.

Under the command of Captain Hargrev ch'Zoarhi the USS Hyperion has been commissioned as Starfleet's newest Luna class deep space exploration vessel. The Hyperion will set out to discover that which remains undiscovered and will also defend against any encroaching shadows which may try to come forth. Her Commanding Officer and crew know that destiny is not set in stone but it is a path carved along the way of your adventure. As for that path, it has no boundaries or limits, merely the willingness and determination of those who are ready to walk it or go running along it at warp speed. A world of opportunity awaits those who would join her crew, the question is; why haven't you already?

Security/Tactical Department: Those who have sworn to protect their ship and its crew; the Security/Tactical Department takes full responsibility for protecting everyone from threats whether they be internal or external, on board or planet side. Those with quick reflexes, an understanding of peacekeeping, and the justice system should apply if they are ready to see the edge of space and more. Roles from Department Head to Specialists are currently open.

Engineering Department: Tasked with the incredible job of not only keeping the ship running but fixing things at a moment's notice, those looking to join the Engineering team need a sound mechanical mind and the ability to think outside the box. On top of repairs and maintenance there is always the chance to explore new alien technology and getting the chance to upgrade the Hyperion's systems or most likely just deal with them. Roles from Department Head to Specialists are currently open.

Science Department: Whether it's daily work like sensor readings or unique events like trying to figuring out a way to enter that strange spacial anomaly, the science department is responsible for recording data, testing new ideas out, and making discoveries and that's just on a daily basis. Don't forget when new life forms are discovered or an alien race normally not dealt with by the Federation on a frequent basis there will always be a need for you and your department to explore even further. Roles are currently open from Department Head to Specialists.

That is but a brief taste of what is available aboard the U.S.S. Hyperion and trust me when we say brief, we mean brief. There are countless more department head, officer, and crew positions all waiting to be filled if you are ready to do so. Visit http://uss-hyperion.rpg-hosting.com and come join our family!

Tired of just serving in the fleet?

Looking for something, different?

Are you looking to break some rules, or maybe for a darker game? Have you ever wanted to be the smuggler, chased by Klingons and Starfleet, or to be the civilian salvage team of a derelict; to see what happens when things go wrong to the nth degree?

Then the SS Mary Rose is the place for you. We are a close-knit community of simmers both new and old, attached to Obsidian Fleet's Independent Fleet, simming for a civilian vessel.

We are currently accepting applications for all positions, including:

- Quartermaster
- Chief Engineer
- Head of Ship Security
- Doctor
- Priest
- Technician
- Scientist
- Accountant

And more, no experience is required!

Based in the prime reality, set after the destruction of Romulus, the SS Mary Rose is an old Constitution Class vessel with a long and dark history of death and loss. She is said to be cursed and to have lost every crew which has ever manned her. Now her latest captain has taken up her wheel and is preparing to set off into regions unknown for work which is both dangerous and profitable. Who will join him, and discover the dark mysteries which have claimed so many lives?

Who will become a thorn of the Mary's Rose?

Welcome to the SS Mary Rose

I have dedicated my life to the pursuit of peace, and through it I’ve fought countless battles. I’ve devoted myself to seeking unity, and from it I found suspicion, discord, and strife. I look towards a prosperous future but conflict looms on the horizon. I am Commander Jaxcen Elhaym. I command the starship
Excalibur.

Romulans struggle to reassert control over their empire. Secretly the Gorn rouse ambitious Klingon houses to muster their fleets for a grab of vulnerable Romulan holdings. One man—one prisoner, far from home—holds the key to diffuse the situation. To avert catastrophe we have earned the ire of our enemies and even our own allies. And it has cost us our captain. In his stead I have taken up Excalibur to forge a new future, to bring back peace and cooperation to a volatile and untrusting galaxy. To those who would stand in our way: we are out here and we are ready.

Excalibur is a Star Trek themed free-form play-by-forum simulation assigned along the neutral zone in the prime universe following the destruction of Romulus. We require defenders of peace and champions of freedom in these tumultuous times in the aftermath of Hobus. Answer the call of destiny, join us today!

Urgently needed personnel:
  • Flight Control
  • Security & Tactical
  • Operations
  • Sciences
  • Medical & Counseling
  • And more…
Department Head positions are unavailable; new players will have to earn these. Prove yourself through initiative and reliability and the post could be yours!

All throughout time, few could say that they have had the power to control their own destiny. From the simple crew members, to their department heads, to their commanding officers, everyone has a role to play and the way that their role is played is completely up to them in every regard. It is the writers that make up the fleet to make it thrive in every way imaginable. Times of war. Times of peace. Times of strife. Times of prosperity. All of these and more make up the stories that are being written in Alliance Fleet.

Whether you favor wanting to be a member of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol or United Federation of Planets, or helping out the Earth Alliance or Stargate Command, we have a place for every man and woman interested in being an integral part of this diverse fleet. Alliance Fleet is a place for everyone and we will find a place for you depending on your interests.

The Scorpion & Thresher share a very similar premise, only that the Thresher is more involved with a foreign enemy known as the Keepers [Mass Effect's Collectors minus the Reapers]. She is also an independent simm, where as the Scorpion is being fitted to be part of a bigger fleet, most likely Obsidian.

The Thresher is seeking a Chief Engineer and Chief Science Officer, and we are also looking for a Ship's Diplomatic Officer and Ship's Counselor.

The Scorpion is seeking first and foremost a First Officer followed by department heads. Minus Marine, Diplomacy, Intel, Strat Ops, and Starfighter. I have no room for them on the Scorpion.

If interested please e-mail me before you register.

Assisting the Romulans remains their top priority, all the while preventing what seems to be an all out Klingon Civil War with several of the Klingon's military forces moving to finish off what's left of the Romulan Empire.

An arms race seems to be in the process with the Federation quickly massing newer technologies, in preparation for war. Whispers of war spread among the Gorn as they seek to enter a territorial grab with the Klingon Empire. The Borg have been discreet, Seven of Nine warned that they'd return and perhaps they are returning sooner than thought.

On the other side of the coin, new species and civilizations continually emerge and among them a humanoid-bug race known as the Keepers. Set about to preserve aspects of certain civilizations and destroying the rest, a 'cleansing' as they call it.

The U.S.S. Thresher a Steamrunner-class vessel is now part of Task Force Aquila whose task it is to fend off the Keepers, and keep the political atmosphere from completely falling apart.

U.S.S. Thresher bares the name of a WWII US Submarine.

U.S.S. Scorpion, Norway, NCC-68255
We are a play by nova role-play.

Scorpion wrote:

Mission I: The Colonial Inferno

While loading new personnel, and leaving old ones behind at Starbase 39 the U.S.S. Scorpion receives her first assignment. Much to Commander Grisham's disappointment it is not entirely diplomatic. The Scorpion's crew is to investigate several Federation colonies that are along the Neutral Zone. The investigation involves looking into the ever increasing plate tectonics on the planet, to find the cause and how to slow the progression or perhaps stop it altogether.

The constant moving of the plates has caused pockets of geothermic energy and gasses to be released and thereby causing harm to the residents of the planet. Upon further investigation the Scoprion's crew finds that this is not a natural state of progression for this planet's age. In fact, perhaps some unnatural means and manipulation from outside is causing this, but who and why?

The answers to these questions will come about soon, on the first voyage of the U.S.S. Scorpion.

Decker's Nightmare Continues...

The L114-A star system has been obliterated. The last known recordings of the system show a creature with a singular goldenrod maw devouring planet by planet, moon by moon of the system. History has documented this being as the "Doomsday Machine."

Join Commander Neferu Aten and the crew of the Ramses as they embark on a mission to the Kaleb system to investigate the disappearance of a Starfleet vessel and a distress from a Federation Outpost; all while dealing with the possibility of running into the dreaded "planet killer." Aten and crew will soon learn that some things return!

This is a great time to come aboard the simulation if want to be on an away team as this mission has two! Each team will need specific crewmembers to be successful.

Available and needed positions include:

Chief Flight Control Officer - strategic and fancy flying will be required.

Chief Operations Officer - power efficiency of the Ramses and other vessels must be handled.

Chief Engineering Officer - warp cores and matter/antimatter will play a vital role.

Chief Medical Officer - the health and well being of many people will be at stake.

Chief Intelligence Officer - there is always confidential information to be share or protected.

Marine Commanding Officer - added defense will be very appreciated.

This is a unique starship that is smaller in stature but enormous in spirit. With a crew compliment of 103 personnel, every person must perform their job admirably and under tight knit circumstances. This is a NOVA based simulation that prides itself on quality writing and truly expressing oneself through the character that one writes for. The Ramses aims to use the Star Trek universe as an instrument to describe metaphors of real-world situations and stories and a love of science fiction.

Come along for the adventure aboard the Ramses at http://www.ramses.akiyaone.com

Are you burned out on Trek Simming because you: --are required to simm according to someone else's excessive limits?

--are frustrated with bureaucracies, politics, stifling rules, and punishments?

--have to write long proposals to a command structure for one small change on your ship, or to promote an excellent player?

--are told you can’t play the character you have written with for 5 years because he or she is too high in rank and you don’t want to demote them?

--have to have a certain number of players on your game, and a certain level of activity? waste valuable time filing monthly reports rather than actually playing?

We at The Ninth Fleet are all Trek simming veterans and have all been there, and we say ‘no’ to this!

Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

So I've been thinking about doing a movie era sim for a long time now and I've finally decided to start it up. I'm in the brainstorming stages right now. (Still working on my character) but I've decided to throw out a feeler to see if anyone else is interested in being a part of this thing. Basically I'm looking for anyone and everyone that loves the movie era and wants to write there. This whole thing right now is in the brainstorming stages. I've got a general premise for the setting, but that's it. So if you've got ideas, skills, time to burn, or anything else to contribute and want to be a part of it, my contact info is at the bottom.

Basically this will be (eventually) a forum based community set in the movie era. Here's the basic premise.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Distant Shores Project....

The year is 2289. (100 years earlier than most of your sim fleets running the Post Nemesis timeline.) In 2189, the Starship Endeavor, NCC-06, found a stable spatial anomoly in the Beta Quadrant's unexplored frontier. After sending several probes through the anomoly, and recieving telemetry back, the Endeavor's crew learned that the Anomoly was a wormhole that led to an unexplored area of space. Before they were able to discover just where it lead, it closed. But contained in the probe's telemetry were visuals of other probes sent through, launched some fifty years earlier by Klingons. The Endeavor reported their findings to Starfleet Command and the matter was shoved to the back burner.

In 2239, the Anomoly opened again. This time there was a monitoring station nearby and a great deal more was learned about the Area of space on the other side of the anompoly, now called "The Rabbitt Hole" by the Starfleet Research teams assigned to study it. Probe Telemetry revealed a Star system near the far opening with an inhabitable planet. Without making it known throughout the Federation, Starfleet quickly sent three ships through the Anomoly and all arrived safely on the other side. Their mission was to set up a base of operations on the other side of the Anomoly and begin prepping for a colony expedition the next time the anomoly opened in 2289. Due to the unique nature of the mission, the crews of those three vessels were allowed to bring their immediate families with them. The Ptolemy Class supply ship was fitted with enough supplies and building materials to construct an outpost on the inhabitable planet. After the first three ships arrived, their findings and sensor telemetry revealed many discoveries, and several more questions about the area of space they'd come to inhabit. The biggest question was, Where are we? Navigational sensors revealed that the area of space on the other side of the Rabbit Hole was outside of the Milky Way Galaxy. When the Rabbitt Hole closed after being open for some 10 days, that mystery was still without an answer.

After the anomoly closed, Starfleet Command began putting together a colony expedition for 2289. It was named Distant Shores, and would be passed off to several different administrators before the Rabbit Hole opened again on 24 May 2289. There would be upwards of ten thousand colonists, Starfleet crews, and scientists going through when the anomoly opened again. And they had fifty years to prepare.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So we're going to start with the 2289 Fleet. I'd like to start with one sim, or two if there's enough interest, and build from there. If this interests you, contact me at any of the following...

USS Blackwater NCC-93833: Flagship of the Nightstalkers Task Force

http://blackwater.starfleetuk.org/index.php/main/index

The newest sim of Atlantis Fleet, the USS Blackwater. She is a Sovereign class vessel. The Nightstalkers Task Force's primary mission is to defend the fleet, and provide aid to planets that are under attack, or has suffered a large catastrophe.

Setting:
The year is 2395.

The Federation is torn apart by war and on the verge of losing everything.

From the ashes of what remains of Starfleet, Atlantis Fleet is born in the Federation's greatest hour of need.

The Romulans were nearly decimated by the explosion of their sun and the destruction of Romulus. The Federation was severely crippled from the Dominion War, when they lost Deep Space Nine to the Dominion. Which was later destroyed, to prevent Captain Sisko from retaking it. As well as the last Borg invasion at sector 001, where the Enterprise - E was lost with all hands back in the late twenty first century as they blew up the ship to save the Earth.

The Klingons seized upon the 'glorious' oppurtunity and turned on their allies to gain the dominance of the Alpha Quadrant as they had always dreamed of, but could never acheve before. The Romulans are unable to defend themselves and Stafleet is being forced back to defend it's core worlds, but are being ripped apart by the Klingon advance.

Atlantis Fleet is the home of Starfleet's last defence force. Some of the most powerful ships-of-the-line can be found in this fleet. Charged with the defense of what is left of the neutral zones and the Federation core world's, this Fleet's mission is no easy task.

Atlantis Fleet is the last hope for the Federation. The answer to all civilizations who cry out for peace. The Light in the Darkness. A beacon of hope.

Notes: Please backup your application before submitting it. In the occurrence of a connection error, you will not have to rewrite your entire character. I'm not saying it will happen, but it's better to be safe, rather than sorry. Your application may also be lost if it is not fully completed.

If you have a pre-written sample post, feel free to submit that. It doesn't even need to contain the character you have created for the sim, or even Star Trek for that matter. It will just allow me to get a feel for your writing style and ability. tl:dr You need to have relatively good grammar and spelling.

Your performance on the sample post will determine your starting rank.

I look forward to seeing many of you there! I am very excited.
