That it was a terrible mistake to bring Jeri on board, that Seven was the worst character in history, that Jeri's a brain-dead bimbo without an ounce of talent in her body & that Kate & Lynx are right about her.

But I can't. I liked Voyager better after Seven came on board.

Not to worry, though. Obviously, judging from this thread & the commentary you, Lynx & others have provided, I'm in a very small minority here. That's okay.

It's just curious to me why, if Jeri is so unpopular & ruined the show, then why do so many people flock to see her at conventions? That's just something I can't understand. If adding her to the cast proves that the fans were not important, then why is she a top draw at conventions?

I really can't figure that out. According to what I read on this board, she's the most hated actor ever to grace the Trek screen.

Yet fans pay to see her.

It's really a head-scratcher for me.

Teya you obviously haven't been reading me very closely as 7 of 9 is my favorite ever Trek character and I've watched all the series many times. And Kes has always been my least favorite VOY character, I've got whole tomes of reasons why. I just don't go on about it too much these days as I enjoy all the regulars (which includes lynx) to the VOY forum and like to think this is a fun place even though we all disagree on a ton of things. I try and keep my creative vitriol to a minimum if I know someone truly loves the subject.

I'm pretty sure I've answered the subject of this thread about a thousand times with: Better, much much better.

Too bad he doesn't feel the same way.

It's been a few years since I've been a regular here, and all that's changed is that it's no longer cool to celebrate the character you love best for fear of insulting him.

ETA: And I still find it disgusting to compare an actress losing her job to putting people in ovens or thermonuclear conflagrations. Perhaps you could encourage Lynx to tone down the hyperbole.

You are wrong teya. I didn't say it is no longer cool to celebrate a character I love, go and check out all the J/7 vids in the Janeway sexy thread most of which are posted by me. Post 16 in this thread is me saying I love 7 and followed by other people saying the same. I've been celebrating 7 for years. I did say that I personally (not you) don't find it cool to bash a character someone else loves. These are completely different things.

If Voyager was on TV for 7 years, then it clearly had ratings to qualify it to do so. If it didn't, it would have been cancelled. Voyager was never at risk of cancellation. No show on syndicated TV before TNG ever ratings that high, this is why TNG made TV history. No Trek to date has matched it. Lots of shows on TV held the ratings Voyager did and are successful hit shows. People world wide are still watching Voyager and buying merchandise from it. It was recently voted by fans to be the number 1 Trek show they wanted to see put on Blu-ray how many years after it's been off the air? It says a huge majority are still willing to pay to own it. If that isn't long term fan loyalty, then I don't know what is. If the producers didn't do their job, then Paramount never would have asked that ENT. be put into production, they wouldn't have used it to launch the Trek Experience in Las Vegas nor would they believe there is still an audience for more Trek movies and merchandise to this day. Instead is would have gone into obscurity like B5.

All this is proven document facts if people actually took the time to do the research.

Besides, what injustice was done here?
One actress was let go from a job.
If that's an injustice, then what's Enron?
Lien wasn't sexual harassed or discriminated against.
Had their been a true injustice, then there would have been such a thing called a "Lawsuit".
This is one more reason actors have agents, to protect their rights under contract and under the law.
I'm sorry but saying that one is fighting injustice over one actress being let out of her contract is fanatic bullshit and insulting those those that do stand up a fight against true injustices.
