2012 was a special year with a lot of memorable events, both good and bad. It was a year of landmarks - the 50th anniversary of James Bond, the 100th year of the a Titanic, the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis, the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812. It was a year of farewells, when many famous celebrities and American legends died: Whitney Houston, Neil Armstrong, Donna Summer, Dick Clark. It was a great year in the world of motion pictures, with great movies such as The Hunger Games, The Avengers, The Hobbit. It was the year of the Summer Olympic Games in London, when Michael Phelps became the most decorated Olympian of all time. It was a year of devastation and tragedy - Hurricane Sandy, the mass shootings in Colorado, Oregon, and Connecticut.

^Exactly... people die every year... politicians win or loose something or other every year, sports-people do something that's only been done a fraction of a second slower in the entirety of history every year, Tech-companies make things that are smaller/'smarter' than they did the season before (twice) every year -and what's a year, these days, if it hasn't got an apocalypse(-'scare') or two to its name?

Seeing the Dragon spacecraft docking to the ISS is a REAL first! Never before has anything even slightly alike been done! And finding the Higgs boson... If I could mention only ONE important thing from 2012 it would be that.

I'm still tying to warm up from my first Polar Bear swim ever at Wiffin Spit Park., it was not that bright out but it didn't rain.
