So... where next?

Actually, a TV continuation could deal with Earth's future after the end of NuBSG - the story implied that despite the warning signs, Earth (or rather, Earth 2) may have the potential for a different outcome to the experiment. The fate of the freed Centurions is also in question, as they sailed away and now 150,000 years have passed. What did they evolve into?

This. If it was up to me, I'd do this. Begin with man being a space-faring civilization again and, at the same time the AI's are coming to full sentience on Earth and the cycle becoming dangerously close to repeating, man meets "cousins" in space, who turn out to be what the Cylon Centurions became. Conflict arises as man learns the true nature of its cousins and our own Cylons reach out to them as well. What side will they take? Will the Cylons in space become divided themselves? Will the cycle repeat? Perhaps the Centurions went back to Earth 1 and terraformed it - or back to the Colonies themselves. The story would actually be about humanity itself coming to grips with its own identity.

You could have it as our Earth gets knackered and the survivors have to travel across the stars to the fabled twelve colonies...

I'll get around to watching B&C sooner or later but for me, BSG is pretty well over. I have no real desire to see more from that universe.

I do want to see more space opera/adventure. I think Starz has the right idea in the series they're working on that sounds heavy on the action/military elements. SyFy should be thinking along those lines, or maybe greenlight RHW's show, which sounds like a TOS throwback.

Star Wars is a massive brand name. Disney doesn't care about small potatoes like BSG.

I could see Singer's (presumably) more action focused and ethically simplistic reboot gaining traction at the box office and becoming a movie franchise.

Well I didn't say that Disney will reboot BSG but that BSG always tows on SW's fame. I mean just think about it: BSG was made as a copy of Star Wars and then many years after when Phantom Menace and War of The Clones was being released Richard Hatch started doing trailers for BSG reboot which then led to nuBSG.

And then after it all Blood and Chrome was made and bunkered somewhere in cellars of SyFy's building that everybody already wrote it off from ever seeing light of day. Until there was this big news that Disney is buying SW and everybody started talking about SW that (and I repeat) all of a sudden Blood and Chrome was starting to air on youtube and then it will be on SyFy. I mean it is a quite a coincidence considering it's past. So where ever is Star Wars BSG is near and if SW hit big on screens I bet you'll see BSG being re-made again all of a sudden.

I think Singer's reboot is the future.

I love BSG to bits but I don't want to see what came before be continually watered down with more cancelled series and one off web series. BSG was a self contained story and what they had was gold. I don't really want it to be chipped away at anymore. Caprica had potential but it never grabbed me the way BSG did. Considering the way Syfy treats it I think best to leave it alone altogether. There won't be a unique situation again where a BSG spinoff will have the breathing room to do something bold and original.

Not only recover but have a brand new Colony of 12 and set off the events of the original BSG show. Maybe the last of the NuBSg Cylons evolved to become the imperious leader and a new race of Cyons were created (but not by man as depicted in TOS). The fact that that everything is very similar and even the names Adama etc could be 'gods' little inside joke.

Unfortunately I think Ron Moore's BSG has gone the way of all the Earth. The next thing that's called BSG will be another reimagining.

I'd like to see a complete Universe blu-ray boxset, with all of BSG (inc Razor and The Plan), Caprica, and Blood and Chrome. Oh and the Face of the Enemy webisodes!!

It looks like that one may never happen, due to contractual disputes. That's why it hasn't made it onto any DVD sets so far. Given that the show is over and done, it's possible no one's going to bother trying to sort it out, either.

Too hell with Earth. I'm all Earthed out. I could use an escape that doesn't require a fixed point of reference being Earth itself. It's the same tired story with countless cliches. Everything happens in either New York city or Los Angeles. The Americans save the day, blah blah blah.

And Tom Zarek could be the (ilegitimate) ancestor on Lorne Greene and Apollo (Hatch).

I still think it's funny that "Daybreak" validated Galactica 1980, even if unintentionally.
