Re: So, what's up for Christmas?

I hope everyone's having a great Christmas. I didn't get to send my usual round of personal messages because of the danger warnings, etc, which was disappointing, so here's a blanket "good wishes" to all of you. Thank you for your friendship and your company. Happy holidays!

Re: So, what's up for Christmas?

This being "our" first Christmas, my wife and I are hosting. My mom flew in from Tennessee and her large family (larger than mine, at least) is driving up from North Carolina and flying from Los Angeles today.

So, aside from the first Christmas with my wife, it's my first Christmas not in my hometown and not at my grandmother's house.

Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope this beautiful holiday finds you close to your loved ones, enjoying the peace and quiet of your homes, the fragrance of the Xmas tree and the presents from Santa.

And speaking of the Xmas tree, I'd like to share mine with you:

I had a great time after all! I spent the day with family and lots and lots of food next to a fireplace. Very nice indeed!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Re: So, what's up for Christmas?

Had my real Christmas today, with the nieces and nephew, my sisters and my parents. My parents gave me some Circulon pans, plus hubby got some new pants. One sister gave me pajamas. The other sister is flat broke, so I didn't expect anything from her. I gave the kids their stockings, which they seemed to like a lot.

I have one more party to go to on New Year's Eve, where there will be a ANOTHER gift exchange. I think that will be the most fun, as we are all friends know exactly what to give each other.

Re: So, what's up for Christmas?

^ We don't exchange gifts on Christmas. It's not much of a tradition around here. Most gift-giving takes place on New Year's Eve. When I was little, I used to get a new pair of pajamas every single year from an aunt. I still do when I am home for the New Year!

^I would LOVE to get new pajamas every year, as long as, you know, it's not a pink bunny suit with blue eyes on the feet staring sappily up at a me.
