Re: Elite IV: Elite Dangerous due March 2014 !

Played it extensively on the BBC micro back in the day, and revisited it briefly as Frontier: Elite II in '93, but what time I have left is too previous to devote to yet another revisit, no matter how good the eye candy is. I'll pass.

9 days left in the campaign and Elite is at £955000. Christmas time slowed things down a bit.

I sincerely doubt this is going to make another £300k in 8 days

We'll see, Elite just passed £1,000,000 milestone.

Re: Elite IV: Elite Dangerous due March 2014 !

It's looking likely that this will get funded now. There's less than £180k to raise over the next six days which is £30k a day and it's been getting about that for the last couple of weeks. And if things ramp up towards the end like with other kickstarters then this should be a done deal... hopefully...

Now at £1,128,991 with 4 days to go - it should make the target fairly easily despite my apathy.

Elite: Dangerous just reach its target of £1,250,000 with 52 hours to go in the campaign.

Edit: And coincidentally, today is David Braben's birthday.

Quite happy to have been wrong about this. Very interested to see what a modern Elite turns out like.

Seems that Dara O'Briain might have been responsible for the late surge in donations.

Good for him, I say.
