Well, I think the Earth's axial tilt should get a lot of credit there as well, and Hydrogen is certainly no slouch, but you're right that Helium deserves our praise.
Yes, Yes and I certainly enjoyed The Hydrogen Sonata and am not sure I'd enjoy a Helium Sonata... I mean; wouldn't the choral sound as if sung by Chipmunks? (and not the savoury kind roasting on an open fire).

I fail to understand why people try to take Christ out of Christmas. If you're not a believer that's fine, but that doesn't negate why Christmas exists in the first place.

Christmas exists thanks to an effort to Christianize the Roman Empire, putting the date at the end of the Roman holiday of Saturnalia. Why do you think it exists? Because Jesus wasn't born anywhere near December 25th, so Jesus isn't the reason for the season, but drunkenness and sexual exploits are. Enjoy!

Hey, happy holidays to you too, neighbour and fellow fleet captain! I live about 20 km beyond the border, near Domazlice, at the opposite end of your country, but my working place includes the Bavarian Forrest National Park that borders your Narodny Park Sumava near Prachatice

Re: Merry Christmas!

Still three days until New Year's festivities and another four or five days after that until the Epiphany....it's not over yet, baby!

Belated Merry Christmas, TrekBBS Peeps. I hope you all got nice presents and there was no malicious malware left in your stockings.

As for the holiday, I'll re-post this message from my blog:

Happy Holidays to everyone from me and the gang. Remember, as you celebrate the traditions of your choice, that the solstice is the oldest holiday there is. It dates back to the very beginnings of human civilization. It is the one common thread that binds together all the people who ever lived and every culture that ever existed. Also, we get presents.
