I'm watching Doctor Who and recording K9 right now, but TNT is showing the Leverage finale several times and I'll be recording it overnight.

Just watched the finale. One of their cleverest eps, a great call back to the very first ep, and a great note to go out on.

That was a pretty terrific finale. I could nitpick a couple of things (like the inconsistency over whether Parker should've been on the surveillance video of the van escape), but it was a very clever set of twists and misdirects.

It was also a terrific series finale, and actually makes me kind of glad the show wasn't renewed, because it would be a shame to have to undo this resolution and reset everything to the previous status quo. It would be interesting to follow up on the new one in some form, though.

It's rare to see a great show receive such a graceful finale.

The last time I saw anything like that was Scrubs and they immediately ruined it with that spin-off attempt.

I think season 6 might have followed Leverage International and introduced some new characters to fill in the gaps, but who knows.

The series made it 5 seasons without a single cast change, aside from Jeri Ryan sitting in when Gina Bellman was on pregnancy/maternity leave. It's hard to believe they really would've broken up the cast. And really, we've had several season finales on this show that involved the team breaking up, and they always came back together again the next season. I see no reason to doubt the same would've happened again if the show had come back.

You might hate this answer, but each had "favorite" qualities, which is why they played off of each other so well. However, certain running character interplay themes could be favorites, such as the bickering/insults/emerging brotherhood of Hardison and Elliot, Sophie's frustration with Nate doing his best to pull away from true intimacy over the years, or Hardison seeing through Parker's traits (others would describe as weird) to see and love her for who she is.
