John Harrison being a "home grown terrorist" is fascinating. There's also no talk of super powers, just imcredible skill. He may be "just" a rogue human Starfleet officer after all.

I'm really tired of people saying that Spock/Uhura came out of left field, or doesn't make any sense. It was right there on the screen at the very beginning. The writers may not have followed up on it, deciding instead to make Nurse Chapel pine over Spock, but it was there.

But is it regulation to have bridge crew opening fawning over each other? It seems like a real conflict of interest to have that level of overt fraternization.

Well sure, Janeway,Sisko and Picard didn't want couples doing it on the Warp Core while on Duty, but, there's never been an issue with Coupling. And of course Scotty chased his fair share of Crewmen in skirts.
