I kind of figured, because the title sequence(s) we got with the firs 5 episodes of the series seemed like an intermediate thing, not a long term concept.

I've not been a fan of the 11th Doctors titles and theme. So hopefully it's a chnage for the better.

That had been the rumour around the Tavern for a while, along with a new logo for the 40th anniversary year... though that may just be the TARDIS/50 symbol that's already popping up on merchandise. Unfortunately nobody dared ask The Boss when he popped in last month!

This really is starting to look like a "The Leisure Planet" retool.

I just hope it's a better version of the theme, more akin to the RTD era version (especially season 4) - the Moff/Smith era theme is fucking awful, down there with the McCoy era theme - hell, down there with the twangy alternate 3rd Doctor theme from Australia...

While I agree the current version of the theme isn't really that good, the version used in the McCoy era is one of my favourites.

Agreed. I've never understood the hate for the McCoy theme. Maybe it's because I grew up on it (along with the Pertwee/Baker theme) but I've always found it rather awe-inspiring. I listened to it once on a moonless night while out in the Pacific Ocean this past summer. The stars were out in full force and the theme brought forth the sheer awe and majesty of the universe.

But maybe it's just me. *shrug*

Not just you. I loved it too.

The only theme arrangement I've never really cared for was Baker 2's "Trial' season.

Not keen on the McCoy theem - too squeeky and of its time. The big problem with the Trial theme is that it sounds great (though still not one of the best) on decent speakers, but on the little speakers built into the televisions most people were using back in 1986, it sounded like a wasp in a jar.
