Keenser's more like one of those background aliens in the cantina than Jar jar.

True. Screen time was minimal. I just found his presence not so much annoying as just unneeded. Again, just my opinion.
I thought Scotty was more annoying than Keenser.

Keenser was barely in the movie. Jar-Jar had much more screen time, and a much more prominent role (and, no coincidentally, was much more annoying).

I can't wait for the the scene when a distraught Pegg carries Keenser's dying body up to the bridge after a battle with Cumberbatch.

Re: The new Jar Jar

How can anyone make this comparison? Jar Jar never shuts up and Keenser hardly utters a word! Keenser seems short, solid, steady. Jar Jar is hyperactive and leaping everywhere.

So far we haven't seen any hidden Keenser tongue secrets like with Jar Jar or Phlox. Let's hope it stays that way. Perhaps his anatomical surprise can be more like Londo Mollari's. Perhaps he can become the darling of slash in the Post Mayan Apocalypse age.

What did Keenser ever do to deserve a comparison to Jar Jar Binks??

He was totally inoffensive, and made me giggle doing the eye thing and wimper after seeing Scotty and Kirk off.

OMG he's a droid in league with GATT2000!!

Seriously, if GATT2000 turns out to be a C-3PO rip-off, I'll be first in line with the hate threads.

Me too. OH ME TOO.

But I'm completely cool about him being a Lobot rip off. Really, I would welcome it.

He'd be lucky to be as funny as Jar Jar.

I don't think it was ever stated on screen.
