Can't blame him for trying, but why do the Mets do this now?

Dickey has had one good season and everyone knows his signature pitch. I'd like to see him repeat his success, even have a twelve-fifteen win season before I sign him to any kind contract or trade my futures for him (as a lot of Jays fans want to)

Dickey has averaged a 130 ERA+ over the last three seasons. He's well beyond the point of needing to see his performance repeated.

Yeah. I think the consensus is people were fine with taking the risk for three years but less so for five. But the Angels don't really seem to have a budget, so they don't care so much.
