I found Cold Equations at my local Grocery store.Persistance of Memory I ordered from Amazon and it is so popular the book is being reprinted again it's selling really well.I hope Amazon finally will get some more of these books in stock before Christmas.I've been waiting along to read these Data novels.
eBooks don't need to be reprinted. Plus, you could have read it by now.
I'm not a fan of e books I prefer reading real books.E-readers are too expensive and I don't want an e-reader or kindle..And not everyone can afford e readers or e-books either. They cost way too much.
E books are usually the same price as the tangible version.

For me, ebooks are significantly cheaper than the dead tree editions. After a number of books, the amount you save makes up for the price of the reader.

Plus, my shelves were almost on the brink of bursting. Now, my books don't waste physical space anymore. In addition, it's easier to look for something and you don't have keep the book open with one hand while typing new info into Memory Beta with the other.

I think it's great for those trekfans who enjoy e-books and those of us who enjoy reading paperStartrek books and want more shelf space for their books want to get buy the real startrek books or e-books both have a chance to get the books by writers they enjoy reading.. for myself I just prefer real books instead e-books.To clear out space on my book shelves I just trade the them in at the used bookstores for other Startrek books or mysteries Written by my favorite authors.Recently I found several of the older tos and Tng books I've been wanting to read for a long time.Howard Weinstein and Gene Deweese.

You can read e-book with free apps for computers. Barnes and Noble, and Amazon both offer ones.

One of the big reasons I like e-books is that I don't drive, so now I don't have to try to convince my mom to give me a ride to the bookstore.

Not in my experience. I was always able to get at least a 10% discount off of paper books at book stores, but at Kobo Star Trek eBooks (and I believe all of Simon & Schuster) have a strict no-discount policy. I know that's supposed to change eventually, but I haven't seen it happen yet.

I went ahead and made the switch anyway because I just don't have the room for paper books anymore, but it still irks me, and I can see how it would be a deal-breaker for someone.

ebooks represent horrible value. They're normally the same price or thereabouts, have no resell value, and very rarely go on sale.

And things are only going to get worse as the physical market contracts and there's less reason to give anything more then the poor value currently on offer.

Not a book, but the letter carrier did drop this by today.

Currently ripping into iTunes. Squee!

Later, the UPS guy dropped this off. Double-squee!

The Eternal Tide is a great book.I finished reading it a few weeks ago.I couldn't put it down. One of the best new Star Trek novels I read recently. David Geroge's Ds9 books are an excellent read too.I'm waiting for Persistance of Memory to arrive before I start reading David Mack's miniseries.

For an extra of continuity/background to Mack's current miniseries, you should try Jeffrey Lang's Immortal Coil. Cold Equations is its sequel.

I recently found a hardcover copy of Immortal coil and read it a few weeks ago .I really enjoyed reading Jeffrey Lang's novel again. It's been along time since I read that book.I read the other story about Data and lal in the Myriad universe book too.I've enjoyed reading these older Tos novels and TNG books for the very first time. Thanks for the suggestion.I can't wait to read Dvid's new novels.

SFBC never did this one as a hardback, and neither Amazon nor ABE turn up any examples of a hardcover edition of Immortal Coil. I suspect that it's one of those "turtleback" rebindings of a mass market paperback done for libraries, not a different edition.
