First glimpse of new TARDIS control room!
![]() Anyway, this image was posted on BBC America's Doctor Who website as part of their "The Snowmen" gallery: ![]() I did say it was a glimpse. From the looks of it, I would say that what we are seeing in the image is the part directly above the console. Also, note the Gallifreyan symbols.BBCA has have a separate article about the new control room here, for anyone who's interested. In the article is Matt Smith's reaction to the new set:

I have to say I really like the look of that design.

Feeling hopeful about this one. I hope it ends up looking more "Time and Space Machine" and less "Explosion in an antique store".

Re: First glimpse of new TARDIS control room!
Its partly for practical reasons - the 'old' set was too akward to move to the new studio, it would have cost as much to dismantle and reassemble as build a new one.

Re: First glimpse of new TARDIS control room!
Still, in universe this Doctor has been around at least three hundred years now (assuming he's remembering it correctly) and is symbolizing this age with a new coat AND a new coat of paint, as it were. Too bad though, I quite liked the last one. Holding out hope that it may yet again be seen, in the rumoured TARDIS-centric episode... Mark

Re: First glimpse of new TARDIS control room!
I am incredibly fond of both of them. Looks to me like the Doctor has redesigned his console room to reflect his more somber, solitary life since the Ponds took their leap of faith. It will be very interesting to see how this is played out, but I'm anticipating a version of #9's angst and guilt played through #11's filter. |

It seems like the majority of elements from that were actually used. I'm glad they didn't use the morgue colors and interrogation room lighting though.
