Gene Roddenberry is the villain

They've turned Star Trek from a weird cult thing into an awesome summer blockbuster with mass appeal and he's back to take his vengeance!

Halfway through the film Benedict Cumberbatch sends the heroes back to 1963 to stop and/or carry out the assassination of JFK.

Cumberbatch is Dylan Hunt, Peter Weller is Questor.

I'm sure that has crossed Orci's mind, since he seems to be obsessed with the JFK assassination case.
