^ Then again, since the diversion happened in 2233 - well after Landru - it must have been that way all along.
Maybe. I can't judge that, I haven't been able to read the comics yet. However, I thought Landru was much older in TOS? As in centuries old.
The only thing we have to go on as per Landru's age is the mutterings of the people on the planet. Just because they say Landru is of a certain age, or that the establishment of the 'Body' happened a certain amount of time ago, doesn't mean it's true. It could be deliberate misinformation spread by the Body. If what the Abramsverse comics established about Landru turns out to be true, it wouldn't violate a stitch of continuity.

And it would certainly explain why, among other things, the natives of Beta III looked so completely human.

Re: Titan and The Fall news

But doesn't the comic say that there is only a single settlement on Beta III-A? If so, where did the hollow tubes that shoot and the lighting panels that Spock describes as beyond Federation technology come from?

LINDSTROM: Well, this is simply ridiculous. A bunch of stone age characters running around in robes.
SPOCK: And apparently commanding powers far beyond our comprehension. Not simple, not ridiculous. Very, very dangerous.
