^ That is one excellent point indeed.

Nerdist has an interview with Brian Wood up now - and it includes three pages of dialogue and art from his upcoming book.

That was like ten years ago. Everything else he has touched has turned to shit.

Except for Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, which is awesome, and 'Spider-Men' which was better than it should have been. Otherwise I would agree.

The art looks great. I really wish he would do some Northlanders style comics about different mandalorian protagonists.

I think what he has been doing in the last years with Captain America, Avengers, etc... is also pretty much above average.

I was already sold on this after seeing the initial unlettered preview art a few months ago, but the new preview with dialogue just sealed the deal for me. I thought I could actually "hear" Vader and the Emperor in that exchange...

Oh wow. I was wavering on this after my initial excitement, those preview pages look absolutely fantastic. I too could hear Vader and Palpatine exchange dialogue in that conversation.

Tyrant's Test 1 was interesting. we did not see Vader as a machiavelllian schemer before this that much. I personally recommand it.

I didn't much care for Tyrant's Test. It was okay, but didn't excite me. I am loving Agent of the Empire and Dawn of the Jedi currently though.

I did not think it was exceptional either, but it's pretty solid and Vader has an interesting dilemma.

The new Solo is named Ania, and the new series will take place after Legacy - War. The first storyline is titled "Prisoner of the Floating World."
Despite her famous heritage, Ania Solo is just a girl trying to make her way in a galaxy gone bad. But it all gets worse when she comes into possession of a lightsaber and an Imperial communications droid—and discovers she has been targeted for death!
Follow the link for the cover to the first issue.

Ah, so the initial press release was just some blurb done on the fly, because it kind of suggested the new series was something that might or might not follow the original Ostrander series.

Ania. I like it. Seems derived from Anakin maybe...

I wish they would finish Dark Times and Invasion before they would start new long running seires.

Invasion is done, unfortunately. And Dark Times has been problematic from the word "go". It wouldn't surprise me if it's cancelled soon.

So that's it for Invasion? To be honest, I was iffy on the series. I loved the idea of basing a comic in the NJO timeframe, but I just thought that Finn Galfridian was too much of a Gary Stu. His sister was a Mary Sue, though I found her far more interesting. I did enjoy get to see the Yuuzhan Vong though, warriors and ships. And seeing the Solo kids was cool too.

It would be a shame if Dark Times got canceled. Though it's publishing schedule has been sketchy. It wound up becoming my favorite Star Wars title. If it does get canceled I hope they wrap up Dass Jennir's story first.
